"So, how long have you been Brad's neighbor Connor?" Tristan asks the small boy who seems is not getting tired of chewing the same gum. Tristan and Connor are still sitting outside Brad's house. The sun went down already. Small snow flakes are starting to fall down from the heavens. "Hmmm, about two years now Evans. Brad's doesn't know me ya know, we have not even talked yet!" Connor replied. "Then why are you here waiting for him outside his house?" Tristan's eyes furrowed. "I am not waiting for him. I'm here to take out the sense out of you Evans!" The blue eyed boy replied as he stands up from the stoned stairway. "Stand up Evans!!!" Connor commanded. Although he's starting to freak Tristan out, the tall blonde followed. Connor held out his hands to catch a little snow flake. "Do you see this Evans?" Connor shows the little snow flake he caught to Tristan. "Yea, its a snow flake" the tall boy answered. "Yep! Correct! And what is a snow flake made up of?" Connor asked again. "Ice. Snow flakes are tiny ice crystals that form from water vapor that freezes in the atmosphere" Tristan briefly said. "People are like snow flakes Tristan. They are beautiful and delicate. But eventually, when you caught a snow flake in your hand, it will dissolve easily. Just like people, if you met someone new. You let him come into your hands like a snow flake, but don't let him slip away and dissolve to your life before it's too late." Connor explains to the taller boy as the snow continues to fall. "What do you mean by that?" Tristan's brows wrinkled once again. "Just remember, people are like snowflake. They melt and disappear quickly. Don't let it happen to you Tristan, time is a running bitch. Say what you gotta say." Connor replied as he pats Tristan's back. "I have to go, please remember everything that I've said. And do me a favor, don't tell Brad about our lil conversation okay? Let's keep this between us. See you around Tris!" The small boy turned his back around and walked into the streets, leaving Tristan behind. The tall blonde is starting to be creeped out by Connor, although he has a point. Tristan is just not sure what or who it's for.
Tristan woke up with the sunlight in his eyes on the doorstep outside of Brad's house while small flakes are falling down from the heavens again. "Tristan? What are you doing here son?" Brad's mum asked as she helps the tall lad to stand up. "I-I waited for Brad to come home, I must've fallen asleep while waiting. Sorry Ms. Simpson" Tristan replied while rubbing his eyes. Meanwhile, Brad is standing besides his mum. It's a miracle Brad didn't have apain attack when he woke up this morning, so the hospital said he can go home. He's wearing a maroon over sized sweater. God this boys likes clothes that are too big for him. Tristan caught a glimpse of Brad as he steps aside "Good thing you didn't catch a cold Tristan! Come inside, I'll make lunch!" Ms. Simpson says as she unlocks the door."Tristan can you keep an eye on Brad while I make lunch?" Ms. Simpson asked Tristan, the taller boy nodded in agreement and smiled. Tristan went beside Brad upon entering the house "Hey" Tristan greeted the small boy beside him. "Hello, Tris" the curly replied smilingly. Tristan noticed Brad's walking too slow "Hey do you need some help? Are you okay Brad?" Tristan asks as he closes the door. The two walk their way through the hallway which leads to the carpeted living room. Meanwhile, Brad's mum went directly to the kitchen to make lunch. "No Tris I'm fine! Let's go the living room?"
Brad lied down on the couch "How many pillows do you like?" Tristan asked Brad. "Just one" as soon as Brad settled down on the couch, Tristan flopped down on the carpeted floor beside the curly. "Tris why did you wait for me outside?" Brad faced Tristan and asked him. The curly looked straight into Tristan's eyes. "Because I care for you Brad. I was worried" Tristan replied as his face comes closer to Brad. The taller boy looked straight into Brad's big brown and aesthetic eyes. As each second goes by, Tristan's face gets closer and closer to the small boy. "Tris..." Brad let out a sigh. Tristan pulled back and awkwardly stood up. "Let's watch television yea?" Tristan asked Brad to kill the awkwardness in the atmosphere. Tris can't believe it, he almost want kiss Brad. He felt stupid, Tristan didn't know where the urge of kissing the small boy came from. "No, let's just talk Tris" the curly went up and sat like an indian on the couch. "What happened to you Brad? You missed the last day of school before Christmas break" Tristan said. The tall boy sat beside Brad on the couch. "Hmmmm, don't worry about me okay? I'm fine." Brad said. "Woaah it's Christmas break already? I guess your two days in school was not worth it yea?" Brad added. Maybe it's the side effect of his cancer, Brad is starting to lose his memory. He can't even remember that he missed school's last day before Christmas break "Yea it's Christmas break silly! You should have known this better than I am! You're the one who's been going to our school longer than me" Tristan said in a jolly voice.
"And no Brad, my two days in school was so worth it"
"Why?"
"Because I met you"
and those words that came out of Tristan's mouth triggered Brad's smile that could light up the whole world.
