Zero closed his eyes tightly waiting for impact when there was a thud. He blinked his eyes open and saw a flash of red as the cloak was being thrown over the Wolf. Confused and disoriented Zero looked around the trees for any sign as to who had helped them.
Then a girl jumped down right in front of him with a happy grin. Zero leaped back in fright then coughed trying not to show he had been frightened by a little girl. "Hi there I'm Geraldine, but you can call me Geri or Ally I don't care which. Both are completely fine with me." She exclaimed happily.
"Oh um well I'm Zero and .....how did you move so fast?!" He asked and she grinned. "My mama always told me, that as long as you set your mind to something and really work at it, you can do anything your heart desires" she exclaimed and Zero frowned as if considering her words.
"Oh who's your mom?" He asked but Geraldine shook her head before he could even finish his sentence. "I'm sorry that's classified the shadows are listening." She whispered and Zero frowned.
"What?" He asked but she had already taken her backpack off and pulled out some gauze and medical pads she swiftly raced over to Ducky and firmly pressed it against her shoulder. Ducky cried but it didn't seem to faze Geraldine as she swiftly wrapped the wound and helped Ducky sit up as she placed a large bandaid over a cut on Ducky's forehead.
"There you're all fixed up now." She whispered with a kind smile. "How did you know how to do that?" Zero asked and Geraldine grinned brightly. "It's just simple first aid training, my mama taught me." She exclaimed and Zero sighed as Ducky grinned.
"Well thank-you so much." She whispered and Geraldine pretended to tip her hat to Ducky as she grinned happily. Carmine sat up with a groan and Geraldine held out two aspirins to Carmine and a bottle of water.
" thanks kid." She whispered as she gulped the pills down and Geraldine nodded in acknowledgement then walked over to Bae and helped him to his feet. "Your fine just a small bump on your head, nothing ice won't fix." She explained.
"Uh thanks Geri ." he whispered and she smiled. "No problem....." Her voice trailed off as she stared at the glowing eyes of another wolf. "Uh I don't know why but there's another wolf watching us." Geraldine whispered taking a step back.
Carmine stood swiftly and pushed the others behind herself, however once she saw the Wolf's eyes she relaxed somewhat. "It's all good guys it's just Red." She whispered as she threw the hood over the Wolf and stepped back as Red swiftly stood then put the red hood across Carmine's shoulders.
"Carmine, what were you thinking?! We were already looking for Emma!!!I'm so furious with you!!" She snapped and Carmine scowled. "I'm not a baby Red and you need to stop treating me like I am!!!" She snapped and Red scowled.
"Well maybe if you stopped acting like a petulant child, running off and being absolutely irritating always challenging Granny's rules then I wouldn't have to !!" She snapped back and Geraldine frowned looking upset.
"Please don't fight.." She whispered but they seemed oblivious to what was happening around them as Carmine stood on her tippy toes so her and Red's eyes met.
"I have literally been through hell, all my life has been nothing but hell!! But in my case it was worse than Emma because I knew I had a father, a sister and a grandmother out there, somewhere but they weren't even looking, and they didn't even care. You're my big sister? Well where were you when I was thrown into the cellar at age five or locked in a dark basement for months, having to give up what little food you had to the small kids around you!! If you're some great sister then where were you red!! You can't just jump into my life and start acting like you care because you don't!!" Carmine yelled and Geraldine shoved them apart roughly her eyes furious.
"You should both be ashamed of yourselves!!! Be grateful you have each other, some people don't have family!! Be grateful that even if you don't have parents you have each other. You're sisters for God's sake shut up and listen to each other!!! You're suppose to love each other not rip each other's throats out, and you both being wolves isn't an excuse either!! My brother, my twin Gustav was murdered. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of him, wonder what would have happend if I had gone with him. So be lucky you have each other because some people don't." She hissed as tears spilled down her face and Ducky, who was sobbing also, pulled Geraldine into a warm hug.
