Keith surprised me when i introduced him to Theo he was still cautious but he put aside his thoughts of killing him and gave Theo a chance. Keith was another one i had taught about seeing past the shell of a creature and focus on the actual being of that creature. Keith was always hard headed witch made it hard to teach him and like Theo he still has lots to learn. Theo was looking in at Keith's mind searching his thought's. They were both doing well adjusting to one another my fear was no longer existent. Theo stuck out his hand and waited for Keith to accept it, smiling i leaned over and explained what he was to do. "take his hand, it's how land dwellers greet one another" as i pulled away from his ear he looked over at me confused. "land dwellers truly are strange" Theo couldn't understand what Keith was saying but he could understand his thoughts. Keith hesitated before taking Theo's hand Theo smiled and Keith's face remained stern.
Theo looked at me as their hands dropped. "this guy doesn't seem very friendly" Laughing i looked over to Keith once again when he started talking. "what's this blubber of a land dweller saying?" his expression didn't change as i laughed. then Theo's voice came through the air "what?" It was clear i would have to translate. just then i remembered something my mom had told me i could hear her voice in my head teaching me. If land dwellers were to eat sea weed strait from the ocean given to them by a water dweller they would be able to understand one another clearly. my mind became clear and i told Theo to find his brother and inform him of what was happening. "Miracle, Lu wont believe me, remember his sight is blocked." Taking this into consideration i glanced to the tree's wondering if Lu had found the little boy. "Theo look in to his mind you will know what to say" he nodded as i took Keith's hand and led him to the beach explaining to him what my mom had told me about the abilities of the sea weed.
we reached the ocean and Keith bent down retrieving sea weed for him and Theo to eat. "Keith" as he straightened himself to a standing position i continued. "how can i redeem my tail.. i want to go home" Keith's face had changed at last a smile came to his face "Miracle look in to your own thoughts you have already redeemed it you've never had to redeem it" my mind went as blank as my face i could see my face reflecting from Keith's eyes. "i thought that..the story.." the smile on Keith's glowing face got bigger. "in the story your grandma's mind wanted to return to the ocean.. but not her hart that's why she had to redeem it" realization hit me, my grandma lost that privilege because her true being, her hart's desire was not to return. "i can come home?" with the sea weed still in hand Keith took my hand. "yes, but only because it's your heart's desire" There was no words that could describe my happiness. I could go home after all these years i could have gone home. but there was apart of me that wasen't ready to go just yet.
Slowly Keith let go of my hand. "we should go find your land dwellers" I nodded as Keith led me up the beach reading the energy of the creatures surrounding us. we had entered the wide opening of tree's that towered over us Keith looked up to the sky as the tall tree's swayed in a small wind. "what are these things?" He had never seen tree's before keeping my pace i turned around slightly. "they are tree's, now lets go" As Keith came to my side we both looked in the same direction reading the same energy.The boy was hiding behind a tree until Keith spoke to him. "Kiran it's okay i have found her" His voice was soft and soothing. A little face with black ear length hair and orange eye's that seemed to disappear into a pit of light at the pupal. "Keith his eye's look as if they are shining" The small boy came over to Keith hiding behind him. "yes that's why they named him Kiran" Keith's smile remained on his Stern but friendly face. of course Kiran is a name meaning light the name suited the boy well and my mother's face came to my mind her orange hair cut at her chin, her small frame turning into a blue tail the same color as her eyes.
I had the same color of eyes as my mom but my deep brown hair i got from my dad... my dad i missed them both with all my being. my dad had big arm's and a full head of cropped brown hair, his tail was green like his eyes. when i was little i thought of him as a worrier he would fight for our world like he always had. The sound of Keith's voice cut my thoughts short. " Kiran this is your big fishter" Kiran smiled the biggest smile i had ever seen. when he came out from behind Keith's muscular back I knelt to his level. "I'm Miracle and ignore that hunk of kelp over there he only says fishter because he can't say sister" Kiran and i laughed as Keith stood there shaking his head with a grin. Kiran wrapped me in a hug with his tinny body. I still could not believe i had a younger brother and a strapping best friend on the island with me after thirteen years. Theo and Lu came running out of the tree's, Lu with a make shift spear and Theo with a pained look upon his face.
