The Long Way Down The Road

The News

Every pony ordered their usual chocolate drink, except Dans, who got a Oreo milkshake.

"Okay, so what's new?" Crafty asked sipping her shake.

X gave a worried face, but Hari look more excited than ever to share.

"OH! Ever since I went to Appaloosa, I was taught to grow crops and do all kinds of things!" Hari told cheerfully.

"That's pretty cool." Dans said eating the Oreo on his shake.

"I've been reading manga lately." Ikaros replied.

"Cool!" Crafty smiled.

This was the usual thing. Every Friday, they would come and chat up a storm. Sometimes they ordered, sometimes they didn't. It was normal to them.

X rubbed his mane, looking worried the whole time.

"Anything wrong X?" Dans asked sipping the last of his shake.

X looked at him worried, took a deep breath, and spilled the story.

"Well, I heard there's a big twister coming." X told.

The whole crew gasped, making others in the place look at them.

"Guys shush!" X whispered loudly.

"But, the whole town will be in ruins!" Hari whispered.

Crafty thought of here home in the clouds. It definitely wouldn't survive if a twister came.

"B-but it's Spring..." Dans croaked.

Dans was thinking how he worked very hard on his house in Ponyville. His hard work would go to waste if the twister came around.

"We know that Dans. Can't you Pegasus do anything about it?" Hari  said shocked.

X shook his head." Not even we know why this thing is arriving in the first place."

Ikaros poked out her wings." But X, how do you know about all this? Why didn't the Mayor address this to every pony? What about an evacuation?!"

X's mouth tremble, he wanted to chose the right words to say.

"They think-" he was interrupted by thunder and lighting.

"Oh no..." Hari cried.

Rain started to pour outside, why the wind picked up speed.

Pony inside started to run outside to their houses. Pinkie shut the front door and put up the close sign. The sky was dark too.

"You guys can take the back door!" Pinkie yelled over the lighting.

Outside ponies outside ran frantically into their houses.

Mares and fillies ran as fast as their hooves could carry them.

Crafty stood up." Thanks Pinkie Pie, get to your cellular. Well locked the door behind us."

They all stood up and ran out the back. Crafty locked it from the inside, and they ran to a shelter, well tried.

All huts and houses were locked. Nopony was outside, except them.

The wind picked up more speed. The twister was coming.

"We can't get home in his wind!" Hari yelled.

Ikaros tried flying, but failed.

Dans turned around and gasped, and the others did as well. The twister was only a few yards away, carrying  broken house parts.

Crafty thought about her house in the clouds. Then her mind snapped.

She opened her wings and flew as fast as she ever went before.

"Crafty! What are you doing?!" Ikaros yelled.

Crafty kept going until she got to her home.

She walked in quickly, took something off her bed, and put it in her mane.

She quickly flew into the distance near her friends.

A piece of wool she couldn't see hit her wing.

She screamed in pain, falling onto the ground below.

She fell unconscious.

X heard her scream." This way, hurry! She's over here!"

They ran to their fallen friend. They shook her, but she left no sign of consciousness.

By then, the twister caught them. Surrounded, and no where to run or fly.

The twister swooped them up, and they were gone.
