Alicia's P.O.V
He was the first thing that popped up in my mind on this chilly Wednesday morning. I slouched off my bed and exited my room, making my way towards the bathroom to get ready for school. I came out of the bathroom fully dressed in my uniform. I jogged towards the kitchen, grabbed a toast and kissed my mom who was still preparing breakfast," Ali please eat before going." She ordered me softly. I smiled and grabbed a strawberry from the bowl on the table and kissed my daddy who was reading the newspaper and waved them with the toast in my mouth.
I ran all the way to school. It was still 7.45 a.m. I had 15 minutes with Ace before the bell rang for morning attendance class. When I entered the school compound I was greeted by many students, I smiled at them but continued jogging towards the building. I slammed the door of the class open and greeted everyone cheerfully. My smile only got bigger when I saw Ace sitting at his desk, earphones blasting his eardrums and his green orbs staring at the far away sky. I went near him taking soft and gentle steps. When I was behind him I covered his eyes with my hand. What he did next was not something I was ready for. He grabbed my arms forcefully and pushed them out of his face. He turned around and glared at me. I backed against my desk and tried hard to hide my hurt expression.
He removed his earphones and looked at me with his cold eyes hissing out these exact words,"Not today." I winced at his harsh tone. I looked down and sat silently at my place. 'What's wrong with him today?' I quietly took notes during and first and second period and got up together with Ace when the bell rang for break. He made his way towards the rooftop again. I trailed behind without making a sound with my lunchbox in hand.
He opened the door and let it slid closed not even bothering about me. I sighed and pushed it open with my free hand. He was sitting down in the same spot as yesterday. His earphones in his ear,cap on his head and jacket unzipped. I sat directly infront of him and ripped his earphones off his ears. He glared at me but i just smiled and opened my lunchbox. I took my fork and picked up some steak with some spinach. Ace hated spinach, just like a kid. I hid the spinach well behind the steak and pressed it to his lips.
He parted them and took the food. Munching it slowly. His face scrunched up in disgust. I giggled and he smiled too. 'Finally!!' I thought excitedly. He was chuckling now and it was more scary than pleasing. I closed my lunchbox and started to back away from him. He lunged himself at me and tackled me to the ground. His hands snaked themselves around my waist and i caught my breath. He started tickling me, never pausing. I writhed and laughed, he was smiling at least. I grabbed his wrist to catch his attention and he stopped. I started breathing normally again. I breathed out a sigh of relief and smiled at him my eyes twinkling with happiness.
He was about to say something when his phone beeped. He swore and took it out, checking the ID. He sighed and picked it up. "What is it, Ashley?" He mumbled in an annoyed voice. I felt my heart tightened. I knew Ace's whole family. His father and his sister loved me very much, his mother did not really give me any importance. I shamelessly listened to their whole conversation. " I'm not free today." Ace mumbled irritated. 'Way to go man!' I cheered on him mentally. After school he is going with me to the 'Sweeten your day' shop."So, what am I supposed to do if they want to meet me?" He stated while raising his voice a little bit. I leant in and concentrated." Okay! Today, I'll message you the details." With that he roughly pushed his phone into his back pocked and passed his hand through his hair. "Who was that?"
His green eyes snapped towards me and for a minute, my world stopped moving. He looked so good with the sun rays shinning through his beautiful golden locks. His lips were tightly pursed into a frown and his jawline was flexed due to him gritting his teeth. He noticed me checking him out and smirked. " A picture would last longer." He mumbled arrogantly. I felt my blood rise to my cheek and I quickly avoided his gaze. He chuckled but to me it sounded more like the bell of the church in the morning. I brushed my embarassment off and asked him," Who was that?" He sighed and pushed his hair out of his face.
