Krystal calls us down for dinner an hour later.
I guess she finally went shopping
shocker.
I had already cried myself dry by that time.
Emma listened to
every
word
as I sobbed.
We go down the stairs and sit at the table.
"It's spaghetti and meatballs, Bri. You're favorite."
I don't a favorite food anymore,
and if I did
it certainly wouldn't be
spaghetti and meatballs.
Emma doesn't seem nervous at all.
On her plate she puts
a cup of spaghetti (221 calories)
4 meatballs (156 calories)
and half of a cup of tomato sauce (35 calories)
412 calories!!!!
I look at her confused,
but she just smiles and nods her head.
I put the same amount on my plate.
Which makes Krystal happy,
but I don't understand why.
She probably just doesn't like food being wasted.
Emma eats everything on her plate
I manage half.
206 calories.
I can feel the extra fat forming on my body.
"Thanks for the dinner, Krystal. It was delicious."
Krystal nods, and smiles.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it Emma, It's nice to have someone eat my food for once."
I turn and walk towards the stairs,
feeling my mothers eyes burning a hole in my back
but I don't dare look back.
I didn't even think she noticed I wasn't eating that much.
Why would she care anyway?
"C'mon Emma, we have homework."
I walk up the stairs as soon as I hear Emma's footsteps behind me.
