it's been three weeks since kyungsoo met chanyeol, and three weeks since chanyeol asked kyungmi out with his permission. while he wasn't about to stop her from dating him, he also wasn't about to watch chanyeol slip his hand into the back pocket of her jeans as they walked, either. the hot summer air strikes sharply against kyungsoo's pale skin, eliciting a bothered sigh from his lips.

kyungmi doesn't bother stopping chanyeol, which is confusing. what happened to the kyungmi i knew, headstrong and firm with boys?

she seems to have disappeared, along with kyungsoo's respect for chanyeol as he saw him give her butt a light squeeze. what the hell? this is like, the sixth date. this should not be happening at this stage. i'm so conflicted. kyungsoo fought a mental battle, eyes going around, should i push chanyeol out of the way, or should i just let him do as he pleases?

his head hurts, the world is spinning; the situation of two people liking the same girl makes him want to jump off a cliff, but of course, he's not suicidal so he wouldn't do that.

a question arose in kyungsoo's mind, and he inwardly grinned: is kyungmi's anaconda even interested in chanyeol? i mean, i'm not saying he doesn't have buns, hun, definitely not going to say that considering those skinny jeans he's in, but like—

his train of thought was cut off by the notification going off in his pocket, indicating that it was yet again, time to work. he rolled his eyes, taking his phone out and swiping the notification away. kyungsoo was more than happy to leave the couple in front of him to do whatever they wanted. "guys, i need to head home; my shift starts in half an hour, so yeah. gotta go!" he told them, seeing kyungmi disentangle herself from chanyeol to give kyungsoo a hug, only he backed away as she reached for him.

she looked taken aback; hurt, almost, by the fact that he had shied away from an embrace. he turned his back on the pair, giving a quick wave over his shoulder as he began jogging back to the apartment complex a few blocks away.

as he opened the door, the humid air dissipated into something more cool and comfortable, causing kyungsoo to let out a relieved breath. he rushed to shower, changing into the horrid uniform for the restaurant. droplets of water still clung to his soft, dark hair, and he brushed them out impatiently, eyes darting to the clock on the wall, the hour hand menacingly inching towards the twelve.

he sprinted out of the door, rushing into his car and starting the ignition, speeding off towards the restaurant. it appeared within his view rather quickly, since he was nearly going over the speed limit in order to make it on time.

as usual, minji was wiping tables and tending to other customers, and kyungsoo couldn't help but to notice her pretty lashes and soft hair. shaking his head, he brushed the thoughts aside before greeting her with a warm smile, laughing at the way her lips were pulled down in a permanent frown. "how's it been today?" he questioned, washing his hands in the sink in preparation for cooking.

she shrugged, tugging her cap off and pushing her hair back, "it's been alright. it's a slow day, which i don't mind." kyungsoo nodded, noticing her eyes on him for moments too long.

he began making various dishes, packing them in the disposable containers beforehand so they wouldn't have to worry about packaging them in case the urgency arose. the day passed smoothly, and soon kyungsoo found himself waving away small yawns.

as the end of his shift came around, he grabbed his things and was ready to leave until minji blocked him, a rather shy expression painted onto her usually stone cold face.

"yah, kyungsoo," minji spoke for the first time in half an hour, a peculiar pink blush spreading across her cheeks. "d-do you want to-um-"

"what is it, minji?" kyungsoo asked, nearing her flustered figure. all of a sudden, the confident and cool minji was tripping over her words, a rose tint to the apples of her cheeks.

"i was wondering if you wanted to maybe, i don't know, go out for dinner tomorrow?"

kyungsoo stopped dead in his tracks, eyes widening at what the girl just asked him. go out? dinner? what the frick? he gaped at her like a fish, scanning her face for any signs of this being a joke. upon finding none, his mind began to whir.

could this be a way to get over kyungmi?

he flashed her a flustered and uncertain smile, his teeth showing as he nodded. "i'd like that. a lot."
