yeollie: hey, can we talk?
kyungmi's mind whirred with questions when she read chanyeols text, her fingers hovering over her keyboard as she thought lf something to say to him. "yeah, sure? no, that sounds too plain," she murmured to herself, pacing back and forth in her shared room with kyungsoo, waking him up in the process.
"kyungmi? what's wrong?"
kyungsoo found that his heart still raced around kyungmi. he found her touch calming, her words soothing. but he was hellbent on getting over her, since she has chanyeol now. there isn't a doubt in his mind that the two will get married in the future.
"chanyeol texted me," she told him, teeth toying with her lower lip, "and he asked if we could talk." kyungsoo rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, glancing at the clock.
yawning, he said, "just ask him what it's about. it's only 10, i'm sure it's nothing to be worried about," he tried to comfort her, but something told him that it was everything to be worried about. but still, strained conversation between him and kyungmi was really all that he could manage, as he desperately tried to hold up their friendship.
"okay. i hope it's nothing terrible," she thought aloud, raking a hand through her hair.
me: sure.
she jumped as another notification came in, her fingers hesitating to unlock her phone. "he texted back already," she gulped, seeing kyungsoo push the blanket off of him to come over to her.
"it's going to be fine, okay?" kyungsoo couldn't help but worry about them, his heart racing as he thought about what chanyeol might have to say. "just unlock your phone, i'm sure he's just wanting another date."
kyungmi breathed in, holding her breath as she typed in her passcode.
yeollie: will you be ready in half an hour? i can come pick you up.
kyungsoo let out a breath. "i told you he just wanted another date." she squirmed slightly, something seeming slightly off to her about chanyeols text.
"yeah," she sighed, nodding to herself, "yeah."
me: yup. is everything okay?|
me: yup. is everything|
me: yup.after mentally battling with herself, she sent the most concise message she could, deciding to put her hair in a bun and throwing on a pair of faded shorts with an oversized hoodie (kyungsoo's; she snaked it while he wasn't looking).
"hey, kyungmi, isn't that my sweater?"
"haha, no?"

chanyeol looked at her blankly as she slid into the seat next to him, his hands urgently placed on the steering wheel.
"hey." he said plainly, turning his head to look forwards onto the road.
"yo—hey—ayo wassuuup—hi." after fumbling with her seatbelt and her words, for once she felt a blush creep up her cheeks at her stupidity.
chanyeol spared her a confused glance before starting the ignition and driving through kyungmi's neighbourhood.
"where are we going?" she inquired quietly, unable to recognize in which direction they were headed.
he shrugged. "anywhere, i guess."
thoroughly annoyed by his short responses, she bursted, "can you just tell me what's going on?"
he pulled over.
"what the hell, chanyeol! i've been worried since you texted and now you're avoiding the topic as if you're about to break up with me but don't know how!"
he nervously scratched his neck. "well, about that..."
kyungmi paused. "y-you're—"
"hear me out first. i just have some...questions." he looked at kyungmi and she hesitantly nodded, seemingly on the verge of blowing up at him. "how do you feel about kyungsoo?"
kyungmi sighed stubbornly, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest. "is this what it's about? you're jealous of kyungsoo? do you think i'm cheating on you with him?!" she became louder with every word, jabbing a finger at his chest.
chanyeol took a breath. "just answer the question." he held her finger between his fingertips, pushing her back so she sat on her seat again.
"he's just a friend!" she said a little too loudly, tucking her bangs behind her ears and huffing, looking out of the window.
chanyeol took her hand in his, causing her brown eyes to meet his. "i really don't think you want to be just friends with him." she opened her mouth to speak, but he cut her off, "i've seen the way you look at him, and it's a lot different than the way you look at me. kyungmi, i love you so much, but i think you love him more."
she was at a loss of words, yet still managed to choke some through, "i...i don't know why you would—"
"everytime we were together, you would talk about him as if he were your sun and moon and stars."
guilt began to bubble inside kyungmi, eating away at her raw edges as she processed everything chanyeol said. "kyungsoo...he means a lot to me, and as a friend i—"
"just stop with the bullshit!" chanyeol yelled halfheartedly, a sarcastic laugh leaving his lips as he slammed his hands on the steering wheel with such force that the horn went off, "we both know you love him and i'm sure he loves you too, so let's just get you two together already!"
"listen, chan—wait what?" she looked at him, perplexed. "what did you say?"
chanyeol looked at her, chuckling. "while i am breaking up with you, i'll also help get you and kyungsoo together. because as long as the person i love is happy, i'm happy."
"that's really sweet." she smiled warmly at him. "go on. i'm listening."
"first, we should—"
