[three weeks later]

"he loves to cook, and he's pretty damn good at it too," kyungmi rambled, latched on to chanyeol's arm, "and he cares for me a lot. i'm so thankful for him, really." chanyeol smiled awkwardly at her, putting his arm over her shoulder and pulling her close.

she reciprocated the side-hug, continuing to talk about kyungsoo, "i've known him since i was in grade three, you know. his favourite colour is black, even though i told him it was a shade, and not a colour." chanyeol grinned gently, squeezing her shoulder as he listened to her go on about her best friend.

"oh? what else don't i know about your oh-so-amazing best friend?"

"at his speech for valedictorian, he had forgotten half of it so he had to bullshit everything," she remembered, a fond smile gracing her lips. "and he was so flustered. i thought he was going to pass out, honestly."

they walked further down the quaint street, seeing small homes and townhouses. "oh, and once, a girl had asked him out and he got so embarrassed that he did pass out."

"what's his favourite food?" chanyeol asked out of random, beaming at the way her face lit up while she talked about kyungsoo.

kyungmi laughed. "spaghetti."

chanyeol pretended to be flabbergasted, eyes going wide while he stopped in his tracks. "spaghetti? no way, kyungsoo seems like a kimchi type of guy." there was a moment of silence before they both burst into loud laughter, the sun beginning to set behind their backs. golden rays warmed the pair as chanyeol held her hand instead.

kyungmi wiped a tear from her eye, letting out small giggles at chanyeol's joke. "oh my god, yeollie."

chanyeol looked at her tenderly, lacing their fingers as they neared his black car, his hands automatically reaching for his keys. "honestly, kyungsoo doesn't sound like that bad of a guy," he mentioned tentatively, opening the door for kyungmi as she slipped through.

"he's not, to be honest. he's one of my favourite people," she sighed dreamily, but stopped once she remembered something. "oh, he's going out with this girl that works with him. i'm actually so disturbed by it, because all she does is try to beg for his attention."

chanyeol raised an eyebrow. "he has a girlfriend?"

"yeah, duh. who'd be able to resist his charms?"

chanyeol grimaced, starting up the car and mulling over everything kyungmi had said up to this point.

kyungmi, on the other hand, noticed chanyeol's sudden mood change. "is everything okay, yeollie?" placing her hand on his forearm, she tried to lean forward to get a better look at his face.

he forced a smile onto his face, teeth showing as he shook his head, "i'm good, just zoned out. let's get you home, babe." kyungmi nodded, sitting back in her seat as she watched the houses blur by as chanyeol drove her to her apartment building.

he parked at the main entrance, the chandelier hung over the marble floors inside giving a warm glow towards the pair. "it was really nice seeing you today," chanyeol said, holding kyungmi's hand. "i'll see you in a couple days?"

she beamed at his caring personality, tightening her grip around his hand, "hell yeah. get ready to have your ass beat," she threatened playfully, chanyeol pulling her forwards into a hug with feigned irritation.

"gosh, kyungmi, you're still shorter than me, i hope you know that."

she punched him on the shoulder, getting out of the car. blowing him a kiss, she mouthed, "bye, chanyeol!" before disappearing within the tall building.

chanyeol heaved a sigh, looking after her retreating figure while running a bony hand through his messy brown hair, placing his forehead against the steering wheel.

kyungmi pressed the elevator button, quickly arriving to her apartment where kyungsoo and minji were watching a movie. rolling her brown eyes, she pushed her newly dyed blue-black bangs back, an annoyed breath slipping past her lips as she slammed the door shut, mumbling a "sorry," before rushing to her room. deciding to shower, she grabbed her clothes and a towel, but not before checking her phone which had just received a text.

what could chanyeol want now? she wondered, opening the notification and seeing his grinning contact photo.

yeollie: hey, invite kyungsoo and his girlfriend too. let's make it a double date, and we can fight them to the death with bowling balls >:)

it read, causing kyungmi to stifle a laugh and an annoyed huff as she quickly typed in a reply.

me: will do, yoda. will do.
