Before I know what I'm doing I'm running up to him and embracing him in a tight hug.

He smells just like he used to except better. Like seashells and mint. A weird combination I know but somehow he makes it work.

After not letting go for a few seconds not then I should have I step back, my face flushed.

"I'm sorry." I say sheepishly. Just now how realized how weird that must have seemed.

He smiles. "No, don't be," he says, looking directly into my eyes. "I just didn't expect to see you here. I haven't seen you in like-" "Seven," I interrupt him. "Seven years."

"Wow yeah" he says.

He seems just as confused as I am by my actions and the last few minutes.

I rock down on my heels trying to think I what to say to him.

"Me and my dad, we moved back," I tell him, breaking the silence "Back on Andrews Drive."

"To the same house?"

I nod

"Looks like we're gonna be neighbors again then." He says with a smile.

I'm surprised how normal this conversation is, how neither of us has really mentioned my disappearance and how I barely said goodbye to him.

I'm glad. I really can't talk about that right now. Not while I'm still in this fragile state from moving and everything.

"I uh, I have to get going," I lie. "My foods ready." I look over my shoulder not knowing if that last statement was true or not.

"Yeah okay" He says to me, an understanding look in his eyes. 'Catch you later?"

"Definitely!" I reply. The words fall out of my mouth before I can think what they actually mean.

I walk up to the counter and grab the large paper bag, rushing to get out of their as fast as I could.
