I'm woken up by a bright light shining through my window unannounced.
The sun pours into my room way too much.
I'll have to remember to buy curtains.
I sit up in my bed and groan when last nights events start to came back to me.
The bonfire.
Niall.
The kiss.
When I got home last night at about 12pm I got a nice long lecture from my dad about not breaking my curfew and being responsible and all stuff I've heard from him before.
I roll out of bed and grab my toiletry bag out of my suitcase and head to the bathroom to shower. I could stay in the shower for hours when there's something in my mind.
As soon as the hot water hits my bare skin I start to relax. Since I've arrived home I haven't had a moment just to think, process everything.
It's weird to think that I've only been back for about 24 hours but all of this stuff has already happened.
Life always did move fast here. Unlike most people, I love that and I really have missed it.
Thinking back to growing up in this town, I realize how much I took for granted. Of course, I wasn't very old but still.
Being 18 years old here sheds a whole new light on this place.
After I finish washing my hair, I shut down the rushing water and head back to my room to dry off.
I open up my suitcase, making a mental note to fully unpack sometime today, and throw on a t-shirt and athletic shorts; my comfort clothes.
Now that I'm dressed, I lay back down on my bed and start scrolling down my twitter feed.
Twenty wasted minutes later, I stand up and head downstairs. It's 11:03 am so my dads already left the house for the day.
This in mind I try to decide on my own plans...
Maybe I could catch up with some old friends?
Nah. Niall was my only really close friend. Not that I didn't like anyone else, we just were always together so neither of us had any real need for others.
I laugh at the thought.
It seems so silly looking back on it.
I start poking around the kitchen for something to eat but it look the like grocery shopping has still yet to be done.
Shoot.
As I'm about to call a cab to the store I see a note from my dad on fridge:
Morganne,
Caught a ride with a friend to work so that you have the car for the day.
Love Dad
I sigh in relief.
Thank god I don't have to pay some ridiculous cab fare for a few mile long trip.
I run back upstairs to grab my wallet and a jacket and then with the car keys in hand I make my way outside.
