Three days later, Elise was sitting in her room talking to Greyson, when Mason barged in all 'hell hath no fury' and demanded her full attention.

Suspiciously raising an eyebrow, Elise told Greyson she had to go and turned to face her older brother.

"What's wrong with you?" She questioned, plunking down on her pink bean bag.

"I'm engaged" he blurted out nervously "I asked her to marry me and she said yes, now I have no sweet clue how to tell Mom and Dad"

Elise's jaw dropped, but shock was quickly overruled by happiness. "Congrats, Mase. You found someone who is willing to spend the rest of her life with you, and it didn't even take an eternity!" she hugged her brother, who glared at her.

"Funny. But I won't make it to the wedding if Mom and Dad react how I think they will"

Elise shrugged "You think I care how you tell them? Cuz I don't. Your problem, amigo. Not mine"

Mason groaned and ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "Elise, come on and help me out. I need this to go smoothly"

"Mason, nothing happens here. You getting married will be town news until you're dead. This boring ass place literally kills me sometimes, and now you have to figure out how to tell them the most interesting piece of info that will surface for about one bazillion years" Elise said seriously "you're fucked, man. Accept it and move on, buy some life insurance and bite the bullet, Jesus."

Mason swore under his breath, then turned to face his sister "Can't you create a diversion? Something huge that will make my getting married look teensy and tiny and lame?"

"That" Elise smirked "Is a master plan, a really good idea. And to think you're the dumb one!"

Punching his sister in the arm, Mason frowns "Can you think of something that would suffice for the situation?"

Elise snorted "Dumb question, now I can see how you're the dumb one. I'll have an amazing diversion planned out by tomorrow night, be there or be square"

"Mom? Dad? Can I talk to you for a second?" Elise asked her parents, getting ready to use the diversion she amazingly thought up. It wasn't really a hard task, find a topic that her parents were always arguing over, bring it up and then side with the parent who always loses to get them going. Once that was complete, she'd text Mason (who was upstairs) when they were in the thick of it and he'd deliver his amazing news.

It only bothered Elise a little bit that she still had no clue who Mason was marrying.

"What's up, kiddo?" Her Dad asked, sitting down on the couch next to her Mom and sliding his arm across her shoulders.

"I have an opinion of mine that I just wanted to share with you guys" Elise tells them, trying to act a little nervous but trying not to over-do it.

"What is it?" Her Mother asked kindly, leaning into her Father's side.

Elise took in a breath and quickly texted Mason Starting the plan now. I'll text you when it's in full swing. Or you can just follow the sound of the yelling.

"I think you should have another kid" Elise stated. This was the biggest argument her parents ever got in, because her Mother didn't want any more kids but her Father did. The magic they used to make the lives of their own kids and their nieces and nephews was worn down; no one was sure if it would work or not. Elise's father was more than willing to take the chance and see if it was possible, but her Mother always claimed if it didn't work it'd be more disappointment than it was worth.

Upon hearing her statement, her Father smirked and looked at her Mother (who looked kind of annoyed that this argument was going to happen AGAIN).

"What brought you to feel the need to tell us this, El?" Her Mother asked nicely.

"Well" Elise thought up something quickly to tell her Mother before she was caught in her diversion. "I'll be off to college after next year, you guys won't have any kids around and you've had kids around for however old Mason is. I just think you'll get lonely with an empty nest, you need another eighteen or more years of screaming and yelling and crying and love. Because no matter how annoying we were, we love you and you love us. Who wouldn't want another eighteen years of that?" Elise asked "thirty six if you decide to have another one after" she adds, just for the hell of it.

"Elise, we don't want any more kids" Bonnie sighed, running a hand through her hair "I don't think it's wise to get worked up over this when it may not even work"

"YOU don't want to have more kids" Damon spoke up "I'd love one or two or ten more. We could have our own softball team! Like in Twilight!"

"Leave Twilight out of this!"

"Come on, Bon, it's not like we don't know how to raise kids. We have two that turned out half decent and Elise!" Damon argued.

"HEY!" Elise jumped in "Mason is the dumb one"

"Be nice about your brother" Her Mother scolded quickly in the midst of the arguing.

"I was kidding, honey. Everyone knows Mason is the dumb one" Damon smirked.

"Be nice! Mason is not dumb!" Bonnie yelled again "he's just as smart as-" she was cut off by Mason entering the room with a stupid smile on his face.

"I got engaged!" He yelled happily.

The room was silent, everyone was looking at Mason (who was still grinning like an idiot) while Elise mentally face-palmed.

"You what!?" Bonnie asked, eyes wide and hands flailing.

"I didn't even know you had a girlfriend!" Damon said "we haven't met her!"

"You can't just up and marry someone we don't know, Mase. Especially if you don't know her!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"Chill out" Mason sighed "I've been dating her for five years, she's a hybrid and she's the best thing that's ever happened to me!"

"Where the hell did you find a hybrid?" Damon demanded answers, more worried about his son's supernatural girlfriend than the fact that he was engaged.

"She's from New Orleans" Mason continued "She's a nice girl, you'd like her"

"Go on then" Bonnie sighed, looking at her son "what's her name?"

"Hope" He smiles "Hope Mikaelson"
