Chapter five:
"I'm telling you, Grey, they're gone ballistic" Elise told Greyson the next day, as they sat at a picnic table at school eating lunch. Elise was picking at her lasagna (Cafeteria food was pretty damn nasty) while Greyson munched on a bag of pretzels.
"Well, I've heard stories about Klaus Mikaelson" Greyson shrugged "I can't imagine his kid would be much better, considering all that 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree' crap"
Elise nodded in agreement "Mom and Dad are convinced she's using him to destroy us or blow our cover or something. But Mason acts like she hung the stars in the sky and I'm not gonna be the one to burst his bubble" After telling their parents his Fiancée's name, Bonnie and Damon proceeded to freak out at Mason and 'forbid' him from getting married. They said this would only cause trouble and that Mason had no business 'Messing around with a Mikaelson'.
Elise may think her brother is an idiot fifty percent of the time, but she knew that he was an adult and it was pretty unfair of her parents to 'forbid' his marriage. It was his life and he was going to do what he wanted, whether they agreed with him or not.
"Did they stop losing their shit long enough for Mase to calm them down?" Greyson asked.
"Kinda" Elise answered "they agreed to meet her and her Mother and Klaus next weekend to talk about the wedding. They wouldn't have caved so easy but Mase basically said they were with him or against him and that if they were against him the grandkids would have a rough time hearing stories about their grandparents who abandoned them"
Greyson laughed out loud "Seriously?"
"Yup" Elise smirked, popping the P "Mom started to cry and I swear Dad was gonna hit him. But they started thinking rationally, which was the point in the first place"
"Does Klara know about this?"
Elise sighed "She's kinda pissed with me, you know how she gets. I'm sure in a day or two when she gets over it then I'll tell her"
Greyson nods, right as Ricky walks over.
"Hey Greyson, Hi Elise"
"Hey Ricky" Greyson nodded.
"Hi" Elise smiled lightly.
"So, the food here is absolute shit" Ricky says "you two wanna go and get some pizza or something?"
Greyson picks up his tray and stands up "Sorry man, I can't ditch off. I have psych next"
"Elise?" Ricky asks.
"She's in my psych class, I'm sure she needs to be there to get the notes too" Greyson tells Ricky.
"But Grey, you could take my notes for me?" Elise asks, smiling. She was SO not passing up an opportunity to hang out with Ricky just because she needed to pass psychology.
"Yeah, I mean, it's not too much trouble is it?" Ricky tacks on.
With a sigh and a nod, Greyson mumbles a quick 'Sure' and is off to class, leaving Ricky and Elise alone at the picnic table.
"So, you wanna head out?"
"Sure"
~
Elise was completely and utterly amazed that Ricky asked her to hang out with him. He wasn't one to really ask her or Klara to hang out with him much. He mostly hung out with the kids that never showed up to class, drove motorcycles and smoked pot on the weekends.
"This pizza is amazing" Ricky commented as he bit into his slice. He and Elise were sitting on the hood of his car, munching on some pizza and sipping grape soda. Normally, Elise hated grape soda but Ricky said it was his favourite, so she figured she'd give it another try.
She still hated it, but Ricky paid so she didn't want to be rude and drank it anyway.
"Thanks for the pizza" Elise thanked him "and for an excuse to leave school"
He shrugged "I do what I can"
Elise's phone buzzed with a text. She quickly swiped the screen to see Greyson had texted her about psych.
Got your notes, you can pick them up at my place tonight, I won't be home so just go on in and get them from my desk
Elise frowned. Why would Grey not be home on a Thursday night?
Where R U going???
"Who are you texting?" Ricky asked, looking over at Elise.
"Just Greys" she shrugged "telling me I can pick up my notes tonight"
Ricky smirked "He's going out with Chloe I think. Rumor has it they've been planning a date for a while but she got a little tense with him"
Elise raised an eyebrow suspiciously "What happened?"
Ricky threw out his paper plate and took a sip of grape soda "He ditched her to hang out with you and she got testy. He made it up to her or something so they're back on or whatever" Ricky shrugged it off.
Elise whipped out her phone and texted Greyson. He never mentioned Chloe getting mad at him before.
R U going out w Chole?!
Ricky cleared his throat as Elise put her phone away. "I don't wanna be awkward or whatever, but were you and Greyson a thing?"
Elise raised an eyebrow. "Not now and not ever" she felt weird confirming it out loud; no one had ever really asked that before. But now that he had, Elise started thinking.
And decided Greyson was one of those people who was just a friend.
"Well I'm glad to hear that" Ricky smirked "I'd love for you to go out with me this weekend?"
Elise smiled like an idiot "Like a date?"
"No" he answered, making Elise frown a second "not like a date, I'm asking you on a date"
Elise laughed "I don't know I have to check my ever so busy social calendar" she joked.
Ricky laughed and kissed her cheek lightly before hopping off the top of the car.
"Well, I hope you can find some time for me"
