Elise Salvatore is a lot of things, and bored is definately one of them.
The small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, is dead and boring; same people, same stores, same stuff just on a different day.
Right when Elise is sure that she's going to have to graduate to ever lead an exciting life, strange things start happening. A Grandmother she never knew she had shows up one day, her oldest brother stirs up conflict by announcing his engagement to Klaus Mikaelson's daughter and to top it off, her brother Lucas goes missing.
As if that isn't enough to quench Elise's thirst for adventure, she's suddenly thrust into a complicated love triangle between her long-time crush Ricky Saltzman and her best friend Greyson Gilbert.
Indeed, things are different from when her parent's were young, but that doesn't mean that they have to be boring.
