Chapter Six
Me and Ryan had gone back outside after our "chat", as he liked to put it. Jess was in the middle of me and Zoe and Hanna sat on the ground infront of us. A song ended and another song started playing.
"Oh!!! I love this song!!" Jess said and we all laughed at her. It was a slow song.
"What is it?" Hanna asked challengingly.
"I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz." She said proud of herself. I giggled at the face she gave Hanna. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Ryan smiling at me.
"May I help you?" I asked in a fake accent, which he laughed at.
"You wanna dance?" He asked me, smiling like an idiot.
"Again?" I asked standing up. A few more couples had got up and started dancing to the song. He put his arms around me and I laughed. I put my head on his chest and sighed. He was so sweet. I felt a pull on my hair and looked up. He smiled at me and I saw him twirling a piece of my hair around his fingers.
"You're so pretty." He told me. I blushed and looked down.
"Thanks." I said.
"No, check that." He said and I looked back up. "You're drop dead gorgeous." I smiled at him and layed my head back down on his chest. I felt his chest vibrate and knew he was humming the words to the song. When the song finished, we walked back to our friends. I saw Hanna smiling like an idiot and all the girls looked like they were keeping something from me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." Jessica said, smiling and looking at her phone.
"Come on guys tell me!" I said sitting beside Zoe. Hanna sighed.
"Ok. Jess you tell her." She said.
"What?! Why me??" She said.
"Because you said it first." Zoe said.
"Fine." She said and switched places with Zoe to where she was beside me. She sighed. "Ok.. Ryan likes you. And we all know it."
"How do you know?" I asked, smiling slightly 'cause I have to admit, I did like him too.
"It's obvious, for one. And the second, he hasn't looked at anyone the way he looks at you since him an Savannah broke up." Hanna said.
"Who's Savannah?" I asked.
"She's Ryan's ex-girlfriend. I think she's here." Jess said looking around.
"There she is." Zoe said pointing. I followed where they were stairing and saw a couple brunettes and a few blonds hanging out on the far side of the fire. I noticed one of the brunettes looking in our direction. I followed her gaze and saw she was looking at Ryan.
"She the brunette with the lighter top on." Jessica said.
"Yeah they didn't last long."Hanna said.
"Yeah like 2 weeks, not even." Jess added.
"Why did they break up?" I asked without thinking. I mentally slapped myself.
"Because, quote on quote," Jess said and did the quote sign with her fingers. " 'She was too good for him.' " She scoffed. "Like, I mean, really? Too good for him? He's awesome." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "If he asked me out, and I didn't have the biggest crush on Paul, I'd say yes." She said.
"Well I have to admit he is cute." I said. "But I mostly don't go for looks. If they treat me right and love me for me then yeah i'll date him. Looks are bonas."
