Prologue
"Carrinina, wake up!" I slowly open my eyes to see Tari, the only one in my life who could come close to understanding me. I am not one to have someone to call a friend, and Tari was the closest you could come to one. Although my parents favor her, because it's always that way with the little sister, I still love her to death. I don't belong here, and never have. I've always been out of place.. Different. I can see things, things no normal oral can see. And only because no one believes. But i have since birth. I've learned not to be afraid, but to just live with them.
I don't call it crazy, I call it highly observational. I have been going to the same school for years, living in the same small town with nothing but ordinary people and woods. Philomath. Philomath, Oregon. If you haven't heard of it, you're normal. And Philomath high school, where if you don't believe every single minor detail 'the populars' believe, than you are very different. By popular, i mean republican christian sixteen year olds who practically run the town, have all the adults brag about them, and get respect and secret envy from all the rest.
We have one church, one high school, and only a couple of neighborhoods. And everyone knows everyone. heres the reason why i don't have friends, because everyone knows I'm that freak. I won't ever stop being that freak, I will just have to find someone who is the same as me.
