My eyes shot open. Again. Another stupid nightmare. After I gathered my thoughts a little, I realized my sister was prancing around humming one of those dumb popular Taylor Swift songs. I wouldn't even know considering my life in Rock and Roll. Anyway, she's hopping around the house frantically, toothbrush in her mouth, and hair curler in the other. Her blonde hair messed up and her pajama shorts and tank top completely wrinkled. She then went into the bathroom, got dressed a little fancier than normal, and came out thirty minutes later looking like a fashion model. She always looks overdone, but today she was especially overdone.

Right then a thought appeared in my mind, it was that new kid's first day today. Obviously all her talk about how he might be "My Type" is a load of crap, considering she's probably trying to go for him. The funny thing is that no one even knows his story, personality, or appearance, so I'm just waiting to see him look like some piece of trash from who knows where. But knowing the rest of the town, he will probably be yet another stuck up handsome guy with a polo shirt and khaki shorts completed with blonde gelled back hair… in other words Tari's type of man, well, more like try hard christian scholar boy. As usual I throw on dark clothes, jeans, and converse. and let my hair out of my nightly bun and kind of just let it do what it wants. I honestly don't care what I look like for anyone, if it's not obvious already. I peered out my window. The yellow beast was here. I grabbed my torn up bag, there in my headphones and ran downstairs.

"Tari, bus!", I yelled

"Kay-Kay coming!" She responded in a sing song tone

She galloped down stairs in her sparkly high heels and followed me to the bus. She pushed me out of the way and entered our old bus, said good morning to our bus driver, yet another person who practically stood at Tari's feet, and plopped down next to her popular friends. They all told her how beautiful she looked and instantaneously started talking about this new guy, and how he would be, and the usual things they talked about. Quite soon I stopped caring and zoned out into my music world. By myself in the back of the bus as usual was where I was. Silent, with my hair falling in my face, a dark expression, and the complete ignorance of everyone surrounding me. We soon pulled up to school and everyone ran out. except me.

I kind of just slowly hobbled out the bus door, my shoes were very small for me. I walked to class behind everyone and sat in my seat as I threw my backpack next to me. The bell sounded shortly after. We all sat  quietly, except for the girls in the corner, including Tari, who were chattering and anxious for the new boy who would walk in at any time now. Our teacher Mr. DeGuerro walked in and put his briefcase on his desk flooded with papers waiting to be graded. We listened to the usual lame morning news, well they listened i just continued listening to my music and doodled in my spiral. Shortly I heard everyone gasp and I glanced up. I saw him.. and he saw me.

Everyone's jaw dropped, except mine. The boy and I stared at each other for what seemed like forever. He was perfect. Headphones in his ears, his dark hair covering one side of his face, his Nirvana shirt with his tight black jeans and matching converse.Especially his bright blue eyes that stared into my dark eyes, and seemed to make me escape reality for just a short while. I felt butterflies. Literally in this town i would have never expected to see someone this amazingly, incredibly perfect. Someone like me. Different. Our eye contact broke as Mr.DeGuerro started to direct him to his desk next to mine. He sat down, looked up and smirked at me. I looked down, not knowing what to do.

" Class this is Jamie."

"Jami", I thought in my head. I wrote his name down in my tattered notebook. Jamie and Carri. I liked it. I liked something for once.
