[Fleitte's POV]

The best way to kill someone is to kill them emotionally until they wish for physical death itself.

Tragic death ? Give them the idea of home. Of being back to their loved ones.

Then crush that idea slowly. Make sure they keep hoping for that idea to be true. And when they're hanging on a thin thread, cut it off by yourself. Watch all sense of sanity leave that person's eyes. And watch my first sentence come to life.

...My sanity's hanging on a thin, little thread. (y/n) has the scissors. It's in her hands---if I turn back into that radical, sadistic...... Thing.

I wanted to make up for what I did. What he did. He killed... Tsubaki.

I killed Tsubaki.

Night... Pfft. What a useless codename. Damn it.

"We'd have to switch back again someday, you know ?"

"No." I mumbled as I twisted my pen around my fingers. "Never again."

"Getting confident ? Remember this, redhead. I just gave you a chance. Besides... You're near her. It'll be easier for me to kill her too, you know ?"

"I won't let you."

Suddenly, I felt my muscles freeze. I can't move. My eyes widened as I tried to even move a finger... But can't. What the hell ?

Then, for some reason, the hallway was longer than it should be. My sight was slowly darkening... But I still have my eyes open.

"Try me."

In a second, I was transported to some other place. One filled with monsters... There was too much death... And blood...

"When did---"

One turned to me, and grinned, handing me a blue orb. That's... Stolen power.

"Take it."

I had the chance to move, but only to grab the orb. Shit ! Too much power let him out before... I can't let that happen again.

I want to scream. And so I tried, but...

"Fleitte ?"

Everything disappeared. I was back in the castle... With (y/n)'s night in front of me.

I looked down, and stared at my hands. I was shaking. Literally.

"You were standing still with, what, like terrified eyes ?" Blackstar crossed his arms. "Are you okay ?"

"...Yeah." I was able to say as a mutter. "I-I am..."

"...Okay." Blackstar shrugged.

"Lies." Mind reading. Of course he'd take that as a lie. It really is, anyways.

"I told you. Try me."

Damn it.

[Blackstar's POV]

"I'm going to bring (y/n) out today." I shrugged as me and this redhead made our way to her room. "I heard there's a festival today. I'd like it if she sees it. It's beautiful."

"Is it fireworks ?"

"...No. Lanterns." I grinned. "You see---I've seen those before. And it's really great. (y/n) would like it."

"...But... Blackstar... The queen and king said last time would be the last, right ?" Fleitte said with a shrug. "What if you get punished ?"

"That's actually the reason I went to you." I shrugged as well myself. "Cover for us. Tell them we're just in our rooms."

"You idiot. That won't work." Fleitte sighed. "They'd check."

"Read their mind. Then counter everything they say."

"...You're making me lie to the queen and king. If this backfires---they'll have my damn head !"

"No, they won't. Just tell them you last saw us asleep in our rooms." I said as I stopped in front of (y/n)'s door. "I'll take it from there, I guess."

"...What do I get out of it ?"

I turned to him, and stared. Right... What can I get him in exchange ?

Aha !

I grabbed his glasses and pulled it off of his face. Then, I threw it on the ground, stepping on it and shattering the lenses.

"That gets replaced. Now, cover for me, okay ?"

Fleitte was tense--standing still with his jaw dropped.

"Y-you---I can't see shit ! How should I---"

"(y/n) told me that you can see silhouettes without them. And powers and auras and you can read minds clearer. Win win." I laughed, and quickly ran in (y/n)'s room.

I would never want to taste that punch from his fist again.

(y/n) was on her bed, reading, and rose her gaze to look at me. "Oh. Good afternoon."

I heard Fleitte's frustrated scream outside as he stomped away. I can't help but to laugh. "Good--Good afternoon !" I said between my laughs, stumbling my way next to her. (y/n) raised a brow. "What did you do to Fleitte ?"

"Crushed his glasses."

"...What ? Why ?"

"For fun !" I grinned, and grabbed the book out of her hold, making her gasp. "O-oy--I don't know the page--"

"Look for it later. We're going outside." I said as soon as I calmed down, closing the book and taking her hand. "There's this festival tonight at the other kingdom ! I'll bring you there---when we reach that kingdom we'd be just in time if we leave now."

"What festival ?" (y/n) quickly asked as she stood, excited. She then ran off to her closet---to pick out clothes.

"Ever heard of floating lanterns ?"

"...In books..."

"Well, that festival creates floating lanterns and releases them exactly at nine in the evening." I watched her look for a dress--since that's the only thing there was in her closet.

"Also, pick a less fancy dress. The least fancy. We don't want you making everyone know you're a princess."

"Well... This would be it," She showed me a simple dress, but...

"...I-I can't reach the back though... So you'll have to help me with that."

I blinked, and blushed. Tying corsets... Well... I know how to do that but... I'll see her back !

A princess' back !

Damn.

"Sure thing." I said with a grin, making her glare at me. "I really hope you're not thinking of perverted shit."

"I'm not. I swear."

Ahhh. Good old lies.
