Delia's POV
Eli looked at his watch and signed,
"Hey, I have to get home. Wanna come over?"
"Sure."Eli's POV.
When we start getting up I realize Delia looks stressed. I take her arm. She flinches away from me.
"What's wrong?" I ask her.
"Nothing."
She's lying.
"Delia, something's wrong, your head is always down, you're sad-"
She interrupts me,
"Steve's abusing me and my mom." She signs quickly. Tears are rolling down her face.
I take a step back in shock.
"Aren't you going to question me now our something?" She said defensively.
I stared at her. Why wouldn't she tell me? I mean I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know it was this bad.
She situated her bag on her shoulder and started to walk away from me again.
I grabbed her arm.
"What?" Her face was red and her eyes were bloodshot.
I didn't say anything. I just pulled her into a hug.
Her head fit perfectly on my chest.
She was breathing slowly, but her heart was beating fast.
She pulled away, wiping her eyes. My should was damp with tears.
"Thanks Eli."
She turned and got into the passenger seat, and I got in the driver seat.
I'll ask her about it later. She's too stressed right now.
