Chapter 11 - Rayne

"He will reach sometime now, you better get ready", shouted Quinn, who had been dressed up much before Rayne had even gotten up from her bed. They were suffering a bit from the after effects of staying in Earth and Rayne was usually not too affected by it but this time, for some strange reason she was.

" Fine, I'm getting up."

As Rayne changed into an appropriate dress for a feast in the palace, she thought back to when she met her sister after the mission.

"How was the mission, did you face any difficulties?" asked the Empress.

Rayne just shrugged.

"Not really."

"How is this boy, Galen? He was very rude when I met him."

"Er... I guess, he must have been still taking in what just happened to him.

" Maybe."

Then the Empress looked at her with smile and said," Why don't you take some rest."

" Yes, maybe I should."

Rayne turned to leave but a hand on her shoulder stopped her.

The Empress said with a weary voice," Are you okay, I mean you just lost someone you lov.."

"I'm fine!" snapped Rayne.

"Well alright then."

Rayne snapped out a daydream with a shout from Quinn.

"Hurry up, they're here."

Rayne wondered what was the big deal. Its not like they hadn't known that he would end up here. It was his destiny after all.

Soon Rayne and Quinn were standing in the Great Hall along with the others, all waiting to receive the new inhabitant.

As far as they knew, Galen had already met the Empress unofficially but seeing that this would create unnecessary attraction, they had kept it a secret.

A sudden musical note told everyone that the ceremony was about to commence.

The main doors open and the Empress comes in, everyone bows down as a sign of respect. Soon she reaches her throne and she looks straight ahead.

A second, slightly less magnificent sound starts playing and this time Galen enters, he seems a bit stiff and nervous at the same time.

Rayne felt like laughing at the look of awe on his face. He probably couldn't believe that someone would go through all this trouble just for him.

But then again she had felt the same when she first came here.
