Noah's POV:
I was sitting next to Zara when I spotted several people running up to us. All of them kicking up the white sand under their feet, laughing and calling out the triplets names.
"Zara! Adam! Wade!" Screamed a girl with light brown hair in a ponytail. Looking over at Zara I saw her grinning. Adam came from his spot away from us where he was sun bathing and jogged over, standing on the other side of Zara.
"NARISSA?! What are you guys doing here?!" She screamed to the brunette running over. "We came because we missed you three. They were all miserable company in your absence, " she replied playfully. Listening to her voice, I was instantly drawn to her. Her voice warm, musical and kind, ending every sentence with a smile. I looked over at the other people that came with Narissa, noting five others that came with her.
I saw a girl with honey blonde hair. Standing next to her was a short but built guy with brown hair. Next to him stood a girl around 16 with long brown hair, startlingly similar. Twins? Next to the blonde stood a tall, tan guy with dark brown hair. The tan guy spoke up first.
"Zara, who is this?" he demanded, with a frown evident on his face. "Oh these are our new neighbors Noah and Bella. Bella's over there playing in the sea with Wade," she answered pointing over at Bella and I when mentioning our names. At the sound of her name, Bella walked over, followed by Wade, his face plastered with a grin.
"Hi!" Bella greeted cheerfully, waving her hand in a friendly gesture "I'm Bella, and this is my brother Noah! We just moved here! What are your names?" She questioned the new group of unfamiliar faces. Zara answered for them.
"They're my best friends," she said "Their names are Narrisa, Robert, Opal, Thorn, Maddie and Hunter." she ended her sentence by pointing at the short, dark haired man called Hunter.
"Ok, enough with the introductions, I'm curious as to who you guys are?" Hunter, the last guy introduced, said stepping towards, with a seething voice. "Whoa, calm down. What's wrong with you?" I responded, stepping in front of Bella to guard her from the intimidating individual. "Bella I think we should start on getting back home." I stated, grabbing her hand and moving outwards to the beach exit.
"WAIT UP!" we turned our heads back like a whip, only to see Zara with a look of apology on her face, "I'm so sorry abut them. This is the first time we've ever met anybody outside of the island. They're just being cautious." This is the second time I've heard of this, Okay, granted nobody has moved from the island, but does that mean they've never left?
"Why?" I questioned.
"Huh?" she replied with a voice laced with confusion, her face matching it.
"Why have none of you met anybody outside of the island? Have you never left? Is there a reason? We heard bad rumors about this place, but now meeting you guys, I'm starting to get concerned." I interrogated them, determined to get an answer. While asking her the questions, her face gave away emotions of uncertainty, uneasy as to whether to answer my questions and give me an answer for why we were on this strange island where nobody ever came or left. Bella shot me a scared look, finally realising how unusual Crescent Island was. I recall not being able to find it on the map, finding out it was uncharted, the scared look the people gave us when we tried to dig for information, the uncertainty on the islanders faces. Why did we disregard all of the big warning signs? What's wrong with us?
What is going on?
