Olivia and Jessie were laughing loudly and dancing around their house, glasses of red wine in hand as they blasted music, not caring if their neighbours called the police on them.
The music paused slightly as Olivia received a text. "Hang on, I'll just check that" she skipped over to her phone.
From: Matty
Hey, wanna come over and watch my band rehearsal in like half an hour? x"Jessie help, what do I do? Matty wants me to go watch his band rehearse, I didn't even know he had a band, and I can't drive... I've drunk too much" Jessie laughed at her friend's sudden panic, and grabbed her hand to lead her upstairs.
"First of all, just wear a plain white t shirt and those ripped black jeans, second of all, you're fine! Just let Matty know you don't have a ride and he'll probably offer to pick you up" Olivia nodded, grabbing her clothes and changing quickly whilst Jessie replied to Matty for her, as she had seemingly forgotten. To: Matty
You never told me you have a band? That's cool though, and sure I'd love to. I don't have a ride though? Xx"Okay Olivia, I've replied for you. are you ready?"
Grinning, Olivia skipped out of the bathroom and nodded, playing the music again and grabbing Jessie to dance around until Matty replied to her text.
It only took him two minutes to reply, and Olivia darted over to her phone as soon as he did. From: Matty
Yeah, and that's okay, I'll pick you up? See you in fifteen minutes xx"Okay, he's picking me up in fifteen minutes" Olivia smiled broadly as she lit a joint, desperately taking a drag before handing it over to Jessie as they walked out to the front balcony, where some parts of the barrier had fallen off, so they could sit comfortably with their legs hanging off the balcony as they shared the joint between them until a car pulled up, presumably Matty's.
"Aight, bye Jess! See you later" Olivia giggled as she bounded away from the balcony and down the stairs, to answer the door.
"Hiya! Sorry that you had to come pick me up, just had a little to drink" Olivia gave a half-suppressed laugh, and Matty grinned at her.
"It seems you've had a little more than a drink Olivia" he chuckled as he lead her out to his car, which smelled strongly of weed, aftershave and alcohol, with a few smoked cigarettes littered on the ground."Right, guys this is Olivia!" Matty pointed to Olivia as he lead her to a small, kind of battered sofa, keeping his palm on the small of her back.
"Hey"
"Hi"
"Alright?"
Olivia smiled at the three other boys in the room, who all looked around the same age as Matty, and dressed in a fairly similar way. They were all good looking, and definitely looked like they belonged together in a band.
"I'm George" the tallest of the four, who was standing behind a drum set introduced himself "I play the drums, in case you can't tell" Olivia smiled up at him, and waved slightly awkwardly.
"Yeah, I'm Ross. Bass player" the guy standing to the right of Matty waved, and Olivia grinned back up at him, beginning to feel a little more comfortable and less awkward now.
"And I'm Adam, guitar player" The other guy smiled welcomingly, which Olivia gratefully returned. Adam seemed like the shyest out of all of them, Olivia thought, yet he seemed really sweet.
"And you already know who I am" Cheekily, Matty winked at Olivia, earning a chorus of laughter around the room.
"Anyway, our band is called the 1975 and the first song we're gonna play is called The city" Matty finished, and they began to play their music.
Olivia sat and listened through three more songs, which they told her were called Milk, M.O.N.E.Y and so far (it's alright), all of which Olivia really enjoyed.
"Olivia, want a drink?" George offered as he stood up from behind the drum kit "we're gonna take a little break" Olivia nodded, smiling gratefully up at George, who, although he was intimidatingly tall, seemed like a bit of a loveable giant.
"You enjoying it?" Matty asked as he dropped onto the sofa next to Olivia.
"Yeah, you guys are really great! Are you gonna play anymore songs?" She smiled, hoping she didn't sound weird or obsessed.
"Yeah, absolutely. I think we're gonna play Talk, head.cars.bending and settle down next" Matty explained as he grabbed a bottle of beer from George, who had brought a beer for all of them.
"Cheers mate"
They all sat around, talking and laughing for a while, and Olivia felt surprisingly comfortable around them, considering she had only met Matty a couple of days ago, and she had only bet Adam, Ross and George that day.
"Well, suppose we should play some more songs, you gonna stay Olivia?" Matty offered, standing up to go back over to where they had been playing their music.
"Actually, it's getting kind of late, I should probably go but I'd love to see you again soon?" Olivia offered shyly, hoping he wouldn't get mad or anything.
"Yeah, sounds great. I'll give you a ride home, I'll just be a little while okay guys?" Matty smiled, giving Olivia his hand to help her off of the sofa.
All the guys said a quick goodbye to Olivia as she followed Matty back out to his car, a smile plastered on her face.

"Thanks for driving me home Matty" Olivia laughed as they stood at Olivia's front door, it was completely dark by now, and was beginning to rain.
"That's alright, I hope you had fun tonight. I'll see you again soon yeah Livvy?" Olivia blushed a little at the nickname he had given her, but nodded nonetheless, and stood in the door, watching Matty until he had pulled out of the driveway and driven up the little street.
