"You know, any girl would kill to be you right now." A voice said from behind me. I turned around and saw Percy standing behind me.

"And why is that?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Because one, we're working together on a project together and two, I have chosen to sit here." He sat down uncomfortably close to me.

"And who invited you?" I said.

"I invited myself." He said. SO ARROGANT! I pursed my lips and dug my fingernails deeper into my palm.

"Whatever." I took out an apple and took a bite. Megan, Alicia and Chloe seemed too shocked to do anything. They were probably thinking "Oh my god! The amazing and hot Percy Jackson is sitting at our table! We're so lucky!" I rolled my eyes just thinking of it. We sat in silence as my friends drooled over Percy. What do they see in him? He's not even that-

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud growling noise. I turned my head and saw a giant dog standing at the door of the cafeteria. Except it wasn't a dog. It was about the size of a hummer. My eyes widened. Percy sighed.

"Great." He muttered and reached into his pocket. He took out a pen.

"What are you doing?" I asked him. He uncapped his pen and it grew into a shining bronze sword.

"What is that?! How did a pen change into that?!" I whispered. Percy looked at me. I wish he didn't because at that moment the creature pounced. Percy raised his sword and sliced it through the monster dog thing. It exploded into gold dust, which covered Percy and I. I stood there with my mouth open. What just happened? Percy stood there and smirked. He took the cap of a pen and touched it to tip of the sword. As soon as the cap touched it, the bronze sword shrank back into a pen. He grabbed my arm and led me out of the cafeteria.

"What are you doing?! What just happened?! Why do you have a pen that can turn into a sword?!" I asked a million questions as he dragged me away.

"Ok," Percy said when we were alone in the hallway. "Tell me exactly what you saw." I told him what I saw, and he pursed his lips.

"This makes no sense." He said.

"I know! Why was that dog so big and why did you kill it?" I asked, brushing gold dust off of me. Percy shook his head.

"No... Not that. How could you've seen the hellhound? The Mist should've made it look like a dog. " He said quietly.

"Hellhound? Those things aren't real!" I said. Percy looked at me with wide eyes.

"Of course they're not. What you saw was a Great Dane that jumped on me." He said. I suddenly remembered the giant Great Dane coming into the cafeteria and jumping on Percy, then leaving again.

"Oh... Yeah... I remember." Percy looked relieved.

"Come on, lets go back to the cafeteria." We walked back to our table, but Percy looked really freaked out.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah... I'm fine." He said.

Why? Why me? I never did anything wrong! I'm a good person! I didn't do anything to deserve this? I mentally ranted. Why was I angry? Because Percy Annoying Jackson was in every single one of my classes! He even had the same study block as me! I walked angrily to the library and sat down at an unoccupied tabled. I pulled out my Greek mythology textbook. I started to do my homework, when I heard someone talking.

"Hey, Annabeth." I looked up from my paper and saw a blonde haired boy with chocolate brown eyes standing in front of me.

"H-Hi Nathan." I said. Nathan was a guy that I had a crush on since I met him in the seventh grade.
