 ANNABETH

"What the hell..." I heard someone say. I stopped walking, because the voice sounded strangely familiar. I looked around me and saw a certain black-haired guy standing a few feet away from me. Percy Jackson. I walked a few more steps and hid my body behind a pole. Percy was facing a... What was Percy facing? I don't even know. I stared at the thing for a second... Then I recognized it. A vampire. Except this vampire didn't really look like, well, a vampire. Her skin was slightly tanned, and she had wavy blonde hair. Her electric blue eyes focused on Percy.

"Perseus," she hissed. Perseus? Percy reached into his pocket. "I wouldn't if I were you," the vampire said. But Percy pulled out a small shape, which at that second transformed into a bronze sword. I jumped and  let out a little gasp. Thankfully, neither Percy nor the vampire noticed me.

"What are you doing here?" Percy demanded as if he knew her. His voice was steady and calm- the complete opposite of what I would sound like, which would probably be stuttering and gasping. The vampire didn't reply. She just approached Percy slowly.

"Perseus... It's so nice to see you again," she said sweetly. I knew it was an act. Why wasn't Percy attacking? He was just standing there, staring at her. I felt like calling out to him. The vampire girl was only a few inches away from Percy. She placed her hand on his shoulder and Percy dropped his sword. What was he doing?! The vampire took another step so she was practically pressed against Percy. I felt a pang of anger in my chest. It was probably nothing. The vampire smiled, her white fangs showing. I looked at her closer, and noticed that the tips of her fangs had a tint of pink. Blood. I wanted to scream for Percy to get away from her, but I had no voice. And my feet were glued to the ground. The vampire slid her hands down Percy's back, then slipped her hands to his front and did the same to his chest. I couldn't see his face, but I'm pretty sure that Percy was smiling. Vampire-girl smiled a bit more, then inched her face towards him, like she was going kiss him. But she passed by his mouth and put her lips next to Percy's neck. I realized just in time what she was about to do.

"PERCY!" I managed to scream. Just as the vampire was about to sink her fangs into Percy's neck, Percy raised his arm and blocked his face and neck. But the monster got a good bite out of his arm. Percy screamed and I let out a little shriek myself. Percy reached for his sword, wrapped his hand around the hilt and stabbed the vampire in the stomach. I felt sick. Gold dust replaced the monster, and Percy fell to the ground. His body went still. I ran up to him and fell to his side.

"Percy..." I gasped, turning him onto his back. The vampire had left a huge bite in his arm, starting at his shoulder and ending just above the wrist. Percy's eyes were closed and he looked like he was in pain. For some reason, tears filled up my eyes. I put my hand on the back of Percy's head and lifted it up. He opened his eyes, making me stare into two beautiful green eyes.

"Annabeth...?" He breathed. It sounded like it hurt for him to talk. I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm here." He closed his eyes again and winced. Blood was pouring out of his wounded arm. I had no idea what to do. How do you heal someone who just got attacked by a vampire?

"Annabeth!" Someone shouted from behind me. I turned my head, and through the tears I saw a boy running towards me.
