Chapter 6: Dumpsters

"Joshua your coming with me. Grab your gun." I say as I sling my assault rifle over my shoulder and slip my knife back into my belt.

"Wh-where are we going Jane?" He asked half confused.

"To get medical supplies for your girlfriend"

"I'll just stay here and keep an eye on her." He says.

"No your coming with me. Stop being a damn pussy." I tell him as I check the magazine in my fast action hand gun to make sure its got ammo, then I push the magazine back in and cock the gun and put it on safety before slipping ot in my belt then I head towards the door. I look behind me and notice that Joshua is stalling.

"What the hell are you doing Joshua?" I say annoyed.

"Um. I'm coming."

He walks up behind me with a back pack on his back and his hun in his hand. I open the door and walk to the gate.

"You open the gate. The code is 5102." I tell him as I scan the area for biters with the pistol. Then I aim the pistol at the lock so Joshua can see what he's doing. He doesn't even notice the flashlight on the bottom of the barrel.

The locks clicks and he opens the gate. Once we are standing on the opposite side of the gate I push the lock up so it locks itself back.

I head towards the hospital that we were at earlier when we were waiting for Joshua to hotwire the car. I have my gun aimed up ahead of me with the flashlight shining in front of me. Joshua is using the light from my gun to see. We hear the sound of moaning and a biter shuffles towards Joshua and he aims his gun at it but doesn't shoot. He just stands there.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed? Shoot it." I say to him. He pulls the trigger and the biter falls back.

"C'mon lets go now. We dont want to be here when more biters show up, because they will hear that gunshot."

He nods and follows. I turn the flashlight off to avoid the attention of biters. We walk to the hospital and I turn my flashlight back on. The biters are gone. I open the door and Joshua steps in. Then I shut the door behind us. I walk down the hall and enter the medicine room.

"You still behind me Joshua?" I whisper as a biter grabs me from behind and I hear a thunk then the biter slides to the ground and hear Joshua's voice.

"Yeah big sis." He says as he kicks the biters body away. "So do you really think we will find Autumn?"

"Yes."

I start checking the shelves and find the supplies I need. I have Joshua put them in the bag then I start looking for crutches. I have my knife in my other hand. A biter comes from around the corner and I slash at its face then stab its rich eye. I pull the knife out of its head and it slides down. It's bottom jaw was hanging off and its guts were hanging out of its chest.

I continue on and find crutches just leaning against the wall. I grab them and head back to the door. Joshua and I start walking back when we hear gunshots. Joshua and I glance a look t each other and run in the direction of the gunshots.

"What are you doing Jane!?"

"There people, Joshua. We can't just leave them!"

"Fine!"

We run, and run and run. As we are running I take the assault rifle off my back and check the magazine. It's full. We reach the source of the gunshots and see a group of kids on top of a truck and some on a dumpster. They're surrounded by hundreds of biters. I start firing my gun into the crowd.
