"Thanks for helping out, Clyde" I thank him.
"No problem" He replies.
He puts away his medical supplies and takes his bow off his back and sets it down on the table. Then he removes his hoodie.
"So Jane. Is this kid your boyfriend or something?" He questions as he nods towards Joshua.
"No. Hes my brother. Why do you ask?"
"No reason, just curious"
"So... Clyde. What's your full name?"
"Clyde Reath"
"That's a cool name"
"Yeah I guess." He says. "I'm gonna catch some sleep it's almost dark."
"OK"
Clyde goes upstairs and sits on the bed. He takes off his boots and sets his quiver and knife on the dresser. Then he lays down and falls asleep.I grab his bow and hide it in the trunk of the car outside. I lock the truck. Then I sit on the couch and check on Alyssa.
"You feelin better?"
"Yeah, a little"
"That's good"
She sits up and surprisingly she seems painless. So she tries standing and she starts to fall but Joshua catches her and helps her sit back down.
"Careful, Alyssa." I say.
"I'm fine." She says.
I grab my hammer and head for the front door but stop when I hear something upstairs. It sounds like someone or something is banging on a door. All of us stop and We each glance at each other then I run up the stairs and start checking doors. I open a bedroom door and see Clyde lying on the bed. And the banging noises are louder.
"The closest." I whisper to myself as I rush to the closet. I open the door and find it. I swing the hammer sideways at the biters head and it makes a thump noise and the biter slides to the floor. I drag the body to the back of the closet and close the door once in out.
"What are you doing?" I hear a somewhat familiar voice ask and I turn my attention to the bed.
"Biter" I say to Clyde. "There was one in the closet."
"Oh. Ok." He says as he lies back down.
"I'll just leave" I say as I begin walking to the stairs. He doesnt reply. I walk down the stairs.
"There was a biter in one of the closets." I inform Joshua and Alyssa.
"I thought we cleared the whole place out!" They both say at the same time.
"So did I."
