*Beep* *Beep* *Beep* An alarm clock went off. I scratched my head, moving my arm around to find the snooze button. A cool breeze flew on my arm, and I put my arm back under the covers. I still didn't want to wake up. *Beep* *Beep* *Beep* The alarm clock continued. I reached for it again, but fell out of the bed. *Clunk!* A loud noise was spread as I hit the floor.
"Uhhh!" I yawned. "I could've sworn that my bed was bigger."
I opened my eyes to see my room. As soon as I opened my eyes I saw a big problem. This wasn't my room. I don't remember what my room looked like, but I knew it didn't look like this. It was a dorm, I had a twin bed up against a wall, a small desk with a laptop on it, and a shelf with tons of books on it. The ceiling had cracks in it, and the walls and ceiling were completely white with tan floors. Right next to my bed was also a small dresser with a lamp and an alarm clock.
"Adam!" a voice said from out my door. "Hurry up! We're gonna be late for class!"
I opened the door and saw a kid standing at the door. He had glasses, brown hair, a striped blue, black, and gray shirt, and held a book titled The Endless Abilities of Telekinesis.
"Umm, who are you?" I asked, confused about everything that was happening.
"Wow Adam, you're really bad at pretending you lost your memory." he replied.
"No, seriously, who are you?" I asked again.
"I'm only answering this so that you'll stop with this game." he started. "My name is Hunter, and you and I have been friends for about 2 months."
"Oh, ok. Thanks, Hunter." I said.
"Your welcome. Now come on! I haven't been late for class at this school yet, and I don't intend on starting now." Hunter said. I grabbed my backpack, a couple books, and before I knew it he was dragging me down the hall.
We ran down hallways, turned corners, and said "Hi!" to people that waved at us running (and I didn't know any of the people waving). We ended up in a huge dome shaped area, with hallways at different parts of the dome, leading to 5-6 classrooms down each. I stood in awe, and looked at all the kids running down different hallways, rushing into different classrooms.
"THERE ARE SO MANY HALLWAYS!!!" I said.
"Ya, and we have to get to History. Now come on, we're gonna be late!" Hunter said, dragging me down a hallway to the left.
We dashed into the room, into our seats, and the bell rang through out the school.
"Phew," Hunter said. "Just in time."
A teacher walked in, and sat down at his desk.
"Why hello class!" he said.
"Hello Mr. Acksona!" The whole class replied synchronized.
"Ok everyone. Today we're going to learn about the history of the mind." Mr. Acksona started, writing on the chalkboard. "Now some of you have developed your skills already, like Hunter for instance. Hunter, would you like to demonstrate your power?"
"Sure thing Mr. A!" Hunter said, putting both his hands out, almost like he was using the force, and my desk, chair, and I started floating in the air. Then almost as quickly as I had flown up I flew back down.
"Hunter, what was that?" I asked, feeling a little woozy from flying.
"Telekinesis." Hunter replied.
"Now you see class." Mr. Acksona started. "The mind is incredible! Normal humans think the brain has limits, but that is obscure! The mind has NO limits! Sure, you all won't have telekinesis. Some may have telepathy. Others might have strength. Who knows, maybe you can have an elemental power!"
I raised my hand.
"Yes" Mr. Acksona pointed at me. "Adam Sellett, what is your question?"
"So, Mr. Acksona..." I started.
"Oh please, call me Mr. A." he said.
"Umm, ok. So, Mr. A, how can one have strength with the power of the brain?" I asked.
"Adam, I recall you asking this question on the first day of school." Mr. A said.
"Oh, well I guess I must've forgotten it." I said, thinking that a better way to say that was, forgotten everything.
"Well that's alright. I forget everything. It's like in one ear and out the other." Mr. A started. "Anyways, the brain controls everything. Without the brain, you are useless. The brain works all muscles, and with proper training your brain can enhance. A normal human only has the knowledge that the brain has a point where it gets overwhelmed, and must stop. Here at Brain Power Academy we make sure none of our students think like that! The brain is truly spectacular, and I hope that I, as a teacher for the history of the brain, can teach you that."
"Ok, thanks." I said.
"Your welcome." Mr. A replied. "Ok, now the bell is about to ring due to an assembly, so I need all of you to pack up, and get ready to go out to the fields."
I shoved a book in my backpack, pushed my seat in, and we walked out to the fields.
