I pulled away resting my head against his, we both breathed deeply and a soft smile broke out onto Will's face.
"I knew it was you." He whispered, his arm trailed up to brush across the side of my face, delicately moving some of my curls to the side. "you know from the moment I first met you Blaire, part of me loved you." My heart stopped, well metaphorically of course, Will had practically just told me he loved me.
"Will I..." He put a finger to my lips and smiled softly again.
"You don't need to say anything, it's fine Blaire, we have all the time in the world." Will was right we did have all the time in the world but the words I wanted to say, it felt right to say them now.
"I think part of me always loved you too." I whispered a smirk growing on my face.
"Hmm I thought I told you to be quiet!" He teased chucking quietly, I grinned as he lifted his head from mine and stared down at me with his bright blues, I swear I could look at them eyes every morning and not get sick of them, I was such a sucker for Will's bright baby blue eyes.
"Well isn't this cosy?!" Another voice broke our content silence causing Will and I to both turn in it's direction.
"Caelan." I whispered, sure enough Caelan stood there a smirk on his lip's and a icy gleam in his eye's.
"Blaire, you make a lovely wolf." Caelan told me flashing his teeth for a second as his lip's quirked upwards, the thought that he'd been watching me when I had been wolf sickened me, now that I knew his intentions I wasn't so comfortable with him being around me.
"Back off, I'm warning you. Leave her alone." Will shouted thunderously taking a step towards Caelan.
"Calm down brother, I mean so what if Im rightful Alpha, so what if I actually can claim your exquisite little mate as my own... so what if I'm stronger, bigger and head honcho around this idiotic little town? You'll still get your own was right little brother?" Arrogant was the only word I could use for what Caelan had just said, arrogant and creepy, I wasn't a prize for the brothers and I sure as hell wasn't someone to stay down without a fight.
"I'm not your's to claim" I spat taking my own step foreward towards Caelan. He chuckled and raised his eyebrows, silently challenging me.
"Really? So what if let's just say you and I were fully mated? What could you do then?" I glared at him, no-one had explained the full rules of mating to me, by being fully mated it could mean anything, even though I did have a pretty good idea already.
"Stay away from her." Will barked moving to stand protectively in front of me.
"I guess we are getting no-where with this conversation are we? No." I watched Caelan from behind Will, he sighed and rolled his eyes. "Okay so here's the plan, we fight" He gestured between himself and Will, "I win, you lose, either you die or I lock you up, I steal you pretty little girl, I mate with her, Blaire and I rule the pack the way I want it ran as Alpha male and female. Oh and anyone who doesn't agree dies." He smirked his eyes raking along my body from where he stood, I felt sick. "Don't look so glum Blaire, right them here's another deal, Blaire you come with me and the pack and Will are safe, we leave and we come back soon for a little visit?" The whole thing sounded absurd, but at the same time if I had to save myself or Will and the pack, I wouldn't save myself.
"You are no brother of mine." Will said calmly, then he attacked, changing so fast into the big black wolf I'd seen him as quite a bit recently. But Caelan was just as fast and shifted without thinking, both brothers eyes blazed as they faced each other snarling and ripping at each other without remorse.
The brothers rolled around along the ground, pinning each other and snarling, it was hard to tell them apart, I had no idea which was Will and which was Caelan. Just as if they wished to answer my thoughts one wolf gained the upper hand and clamped it's teeth around the others throat, the wolf on the ground struggled and snarled but the other kept a firm grip on it's neck. It's eyes met me from the ground where it lay pitifully overpowered, bright blue, Will.
"Don't hurt him!" I cried out, this was it, I just knew it, Will was so close to being killed right now, but I could save him. "Please don't hurt him" I whimpered, Caelan turned fixing his smug black eyes on me. "I'll do what you want, I promise. Just don't hurt Will." A wolf-ish smile made it's way onto Caelan's face, he was happy, he had won.
Turn wolf, run now! The voice echoed through my head loudly in a overpowering command.
Blaire run, get to the house, get home, just leave, please leave. It was Will speaking to me, telling me to save myself, I couldn't.
Goodbye Will, I need to do what's best for everybody.
"Caelan, I'll go with you. Just let Will go." I whispered, knowing they would both hear me speak.
Caelan watched me as my eyes met Will's, the bright blue eyes begged and pleaded with me.
Blaire? Please don't go with him. I think I love you, scratch that, I do love you.
I tore my gaze away and wiped away the tear that slid down my face. I love you too Will.
Blaire come here and change now, we're leaving. Brother say goodbye to your mate, you won't be seeing her in a while, hell when I'm finished with her, she won't be the same. Knowing both Will and I could hear him he grinned wolfishly and carefully released his grip from around the Will's neck, Will made no notion to move and instead laid there painfully still and bleeding badly.
Come along Blaire. I shifted quickly and padded over softly towards Caelan, my eyes never left Will's, because in them I saw hope and determination that I'd see him again someday.
