Chapter 24: The Inevitable

I woke up to the monotonous sound of beeping monitors. My vision was a bit blurry but I blinked a few times and re-adjusted. White walls, a window, and a bouquet of flowers were in my range of vision.

I assumed I was in my hospital room after the appendix surgery. I should have listened to my doctor and should have gotten them taken out right away. But at least I'm alright now.

An older nurse walked in and smiled when she saw that I was awake.

"Well good morning sunshine! How are you feeling?" she asked.

"I'm alright," I answered, my voice groggy.

"Well good, everything went as planned and your boyfriend is here to see you," she smiled.

"Everything went okay?" I asked.

"Oh yes, of course! You're perfectly fine, and so is the baby," she said in the same cheery tone.

My blood froze and I stared at her wide eyed before I found my voice to talk, "B-baby? What baby?!" I asked.

"Oh, you didn't know? You're pregnant dear! Congratulations!" she exclaimed with a big grin.

"But I...I can't be...we didn't..." I failed at finding the words to speak when a knock came at the door.

"Oh! That's your boyfriend probably, one second dear!" she called out.

Oh gosh, Alex. How would he respond to this?! I couldn't bare if he wanted to split up or not raise the baby. This is all just too much to think about, I think I'm going to be sick.

But when the door opened it didn't reveal Alex...it revealed Will.

"W-what are you doing here?!" I asked in a panic.

"Babe, don't be so scared! Are you alright?" He asked with concern.

The nurse butted in, "She might be a little loopy from the medicine," she explained.

"Stay away from me! You're not my boyfriend!" I said with fear dripping on every last word.

"Oh honey, you're hallucinating! I'll bring you some water," she said.

"N-no don't leave!" I begged her. But she was gone, leaving Will and I by ourselves.

"Don't come near me!" I warned.

"Calm down sweetie! Isn't it exciting? We're going to have a baby!" He said.

"Where's Alex?! What have you done with him?" I asked.

"Who's Alex?" He asked.

I was too afraid to speak, "Once we get you out of here we can elope like we planned," he smirked.

"Elope?! What are you talking about?!" I demanded. But when I looked down at my hand, there was a shiny ring covering my ring finger.

"I know you're nervous but you're going to be a great wife and mother. We're going to be together forever," he said with a vicious smile.

"No, don't touch me!" I shrieked.

The next time I looked down at my stomach, it had grown in size. It looked like I was really, really pregnant.

"What's going on?!" I cried.

"We're raising a family," Will smiled wickedly.

"No!" I yelled.

The next thing I knew, I sat up quickly, my heartbeat accelerating by the second. I felt someone stir next to me and gasped.

"Hello sunshine! You're awake!" An older nurse smiled.

"Am I pregnant?!" I blurted out suddenly.

She laughed and gave me a strange look, "Of course not honey! You just had a standard appendix surgery done," she said writing some things down on a clipboard. "That must have been a doozy of a dream," she said.

"You have no idea," I mumbled, still shaken up.

I breathed a sigh of relief and laid back down. She opened the door to reveal Jack, Rian, Zack, and Alex. Vinny, Travis and Flyzik also tagged along and they came in with flowers and a balloon.

"Hey look who's awake! Feeling better?" Alex asked giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Uh, yeah I'm okay," I said.

"Good, I'm glad. Why didn't you tell us you needed your appendix out?!" Rian demanded.

"I...didn't want you guys to worry," I said.

"Well next time, tell us when there's a problem. We love you," Zack said.

"I love you guys too," I said tearing up.

"Also, Tay said you're not allowed to go to the hospital anymore unless it's for your first born child," Jack said jokingly.

Even though it was a joke I couldn't help but think of my dream and cringe.

"Haha, yeah that's a good one cal I said uncomfortably. "When can I leave?" I asked changing the subject.


"We're signing you out now, pretty soon," Alex said kissing my cheek.

"It was so quiet without you in the condo," Travis frowned giving me a hug.

"Well in back tonight Trav!" I said with a smile.

"Wouldn't you want to embrace the silence?" Bonny asked teasingly.

I flipped him off and we all laughed. Once I was signed out and okay, we all went back to mine and Travis' condo to hang out.

"What should we do today?" I asked.

"Let's take it easy since you just got home. Wanna go to the movies?" Rian asked.

"Sure," I nodded. "What are we going to see?" I questioned.

"We should go see The Conjuring," Flyzik said.

"Do you want me to die?!" I said dramatically.

"I'll protect you," Alex whispered.

"I'd feel better if Zack protected us," I said gesturing to the more buff guy.

"What, because he's got big muscles?" Alex said faking hurt.

"Yes, that's exactly it," I said being honest.

"Hey, you asked for honesty," Jack said patting Alex on the back.

"Shut up," Alex mumbled as I cracked up laughing.

We got to the movies and Rian went to go get the tickets. We all waited in the game room when I decided to drag Alex into the photo booth.

The first pose we did was a duck face selfie complete with us chucking up our peace signs. The next pose was us sticking our tongues out, then ones of us smiling, then the last was of us kissing.

I loved photo booths, so I always liked to drag Alex into them.

Once we bought popcorn and drinks, we headed into the theater. I was legitimately nervous for this movie, it was said to be one of the scariest movies of the year.

I sat between Alex and Travis and pulled my knees up to my chest. I leaned my head in Alex's shoulder and braced myself.

The beginning wasn't so bad, but towards the middle of the movie I was full on freaked out. I was clutching into Alex's shoulder, probably digging my nails into his arm but I couldn't help it.

One of the scariest parts of the movie happened and I literally screamed out loud.

"AHHH!" I yelled.

"Shhhh!" Voices all around me scolded.

"Oh like you weren't all scared!" I exclaimed.

After the movieI was too freaked out to even move. Alex nudged me and we left.

"You are never picking the movie AGAIN," I said to Flyzik.

They all just laughed at me and I glared. After the day I was having, freaked out didn't even begin to explain what I was feeling.

That dream seemed so real, it honestly just made me want to cry. I was so scared, not because I was pregnant, but because Will was there.

"I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow morning," I said snuggling into Alex.

"We gotta get back to tour, but I'll see you when we're in New York," he said kissing the top of my head.

"I know, it's just hard," I said.

I ordered pizza for the boys and I for dinner and we all say around eating and joking.

I grabbed Alex another beer and sat down snuggling next to him. It had been a long day and all I wanted was to hang out with Alex.

"Pretend to fall asleep, I'll take us upstairs," Alex whispered.
I smirked and dozed off for a few minutes.

"I'm gonna go to sleep and take her upstairs, night guys," Alex said quietly while picking me up bridal style.

I kept a straight face until we were out of sight. He went up to my room and shut the door, locking it behind him.

"Let's make the most of the time we have," I whispered.

I hovered over Alex, sitting on top of him. I kissed down his jawline to his neck, and on top of his chest.

He flipped us over and kissed my neck, finding my soft spot. I let out a quiet moan and he smiled into the kiss.

"I won't see you for another month, lets make it memorable," he smiled.

"Alex!" I giggled as he lifted me up.

By the time we were done it was late, I laid on Alex's chest and he rubbed circles into my arm.

"Babe, you seemed a little freaked out today when you woke up. Is everything alright?" He asked.

"Huh? Oh yeah, fine," I said. He didn't buy it however.

"Sarah you've got to start telling me the truth," he said.

I sighed, "I just had a weird dream," I said. He pushed me to continue, "In the dream I was pregnant, and engaged...to Will," I choked out the last part.

He rubbed my back, "No wonder why you're so freaked out," he said. "You know us never let him touch you ever again," he said seriously.

"I know, just kinda creeped me out. But thank you, I love you," I said.

He kissed my forehead, "I love you too," he said. Surprisingly I did feel better telling someone, it lifted a weight off my shoulders.

And for once I was glad to be completely honest about my feelings.

The next morning Alex had to wake up extremely early to leave. The boys all came in my room and said goodbye. I was half asleep but when Alex was the last one left, I tried to wake up.

"Call me when you get there, be safe. I love you," I said groggily.

"I love you too, I will. See you soon babe," he said.

I pulled him in for a long kiss, running my fingers through his hair and him doing the same.

He pulled away planting one last kiss on my forehead, "I have to go, I love you, get some sleep," he whispered.

"Love you too," I said laying back down, feeling sad.

I hear them leave and just as I was falling back asleep my phone buzzed with a notification.

@AlexAllTimeLow: Damn, I hate leaving my lady, see you soon!

I smiled and fell back asleep with a happy feeling inside I'd me. This time, no nightmares.
