Cracking. That's the first thing you hear. Burning. That's the first thing you feel. Screaming. That's the first thing you do. "Help!" You scream, but no one comes. You shoulder your way out of the shed. You run to the lake and jump in. The water drowns the flame, and soothes your burnt skin.

When you return, firemen are dousing the last of the flames. Your neighborhood friend Jay runs up to you. "Trixan! Are you alright?" "Yeah, I think so." You reply. "Oh my God! Your arm! You need help right now!" Jay ran off to an ambulance that had parked on the side of the street. A couple minutes later, you were on a stretcher being driven to the local hospital. When I got there, they asked, "What's your name?" "Trixan." You reply. "Where are your parents?" You didn't know. Last you remember, your mom was tucking you in. When you woke up, you were in a burning shed. "I-I don't know." You stammered. "Where's Jay?" You ask. "Oh, that boy? He's in the waiting room. We told him he could leave, but, he wanted to stay for you." "Can I go see him?" "After you have those burns treated to." The next few hours were hazy. They gave you a 'sleeping shot', and you went out like a light. After a couple hours, the shot wore off and you woke up. Jay was sleeping in the chair by the bed. I checked my watch. 9:37 P.M. When Jay heard the beeping watch, he woke up. "Finally awake, sleeping beauty?" He teased. "Hey, they gave me a tranquilizer dart what do you expect?" You told him. You were grateful for Jay. He made the best of every situation. "So you don't know where your folks are?" "Nope." "Well then I guess we'll have to find out."
