Chapter 31 ~ THE BABY

"Ahhhck," I moaned as Vincent helped me up,

"MIKE GET IT THE CAR PLEASE," Vincent yelled and Mike bounded up the steps with his toy race car.

"REPORTING FOR DUTY," Mike squealed and Vincent helped me to walk to the car, "Daddy what is wrong with mommy?" He asked

"Mommy is having her baby," Vincent said trying to be calm as he started the car. He pulled out of the driveway and into the street. I felt a hand grab my wrist. I looked down and saw Vincent rubbing the back of my hand. I leaned my head back, could we go any slower?

"Mommy are you going to have your baby at the hospital," Mike asked

"Yes she is," I replied giving my best smile. Soon but not soon enough we reached the hospital. Vincent and Mike helped me out of the car and into the hospital doors.

"Alright ma'am," a nurse said, Vincent must have called ahead of time. "Please sit on here and we will get you to your room,"

"Okay," I breathed out, I was sat down in a wheelchair and a bunch of other nurses surrounded me. I began to practice my breathing

I repeated the process until it was time to get out of the wheelchair. My contractions were getting close together. Five minutes at the most.

"Alright ma'am we will be getting everything ready for when it is time to start pushing," the nurse said and Vincent picked up Mike. Mike leaned down from Vincent's arms and kissed my forehead. I smiled, how could anyone be so cruel to an angle like him.

"Mommy how long until the baby comes out," Mike asked

"I don't know bubby," I replied and Mike frowned

"I want to see her right now," Mike frowned, I laughed a little and closed my eyes.

"(Y/n) sweety I just got off of work," I heard my mom's voice call

"Oh (y/n) hello," the familiar voice of Grell called, I smiled

"Did you call them," I asked Vincent and he nodded, my mom ran over to me hugging me and drowning my face in kisses.

"Ack," I yelled out and a nurse ran into the room

"Alright I think it's time to push," she said, I nodded bracing myself for pain.  Two other nurses entered the room. One male and the other female. The crowded around my down under and the male pushed on my stomach

"Alright 1,2,3 push," the male nurse said and I pushed with all of my might. Vincent held my hand as I groaned. This pain was horrible, even worse than when I broke my arm in 3rd grade.

"Good job love," Vincent said

"1,2,3 push," the nurse said again and I pushed, "I see a head," I relaxed a little feeling rather dizzy. I took a few deep uneven breaths. I felt like I was on fire "1,2,3 push," and I pushed again, hard, I could feel the nurse pressing down on my belly.

"Is the baby alright," the female nurse asked "it's purple," Vincent did a small fist bump making me laugh a little. The other female nurse pointed up towards Vincent and the first on nodded.

"1,2,3 push," the male nurse said once again. I pushed and I felt Vincent squeeze my hand

"You're doing great," he said

"Okay this should be the last time," the male nurse said "1,2,3 push," and with every bit of strength I had left I pushed. I pushed and pushed and pushed until the nurses backed away. They cut the umbilical cord and held up my baby. She cried loud and clear, I smiled as the pain was already subsiding.

"Do you have a name picked out for her," the female nurse said as they swaddled the baby cleaning her off

"Yes in fact I do," I said, "he name is Serenity," I added

"Beautiful name I must say," I heard a deep male voice say

"BASSY," Grelly cried out and I saw Ciel and Sebastian enter the room. Serenity was handed to me as Grell "attacked" Sebastian. I laughed and saw Mike crawl into the bed. He looked into Serenity's face and smiled

"She's cute," he said and Serenity squirmed a bit. She slowly opened her eyes, she had large twinkling purple eyes. But as soon as I saw them they went away. Serenity yawned and made quiet cooing noises.

"Love may I hold her," Vincent asked, I nodded and handed Serenity off to him. "Wow she's pretty," he said and my mom and Ciel came to see her

"Oh you're right she is beautiful," my mom said almost in awe. Ciel seemed to brighten up a little at her presence

"Yes she is quite unique," Ciel said and Sebastian pried Grell off of him

"Congratulations miss (y/n) I'm afraid I can't stay long, I have to get young master to bed soon," Sebastian said and took Ciel with him as he exited the room. Grell ran over to the baby and began to admire her.

"Oh how adorable," he said and twiddled his fingers around her "she's got your eyes," he added glancing at me. Mike sat in a chair holding his toy car riding it on a table next to us. Vincent put him on his shoulders and brought him over to Serenity. Whilst they were crowding around Serenity, I decided to fall asleep.
