A crack of thunder shuddered over the building as I was cleaning the glass container that was filled with morphing. Rory came staggering in. " You ok? " he asked, taking my arm. " Yeah, let's go."

We ran up the stairs to my room, soaked and laughing. Rory raised his eyebrow.

  " What?"
" Let's go to the meadow. Tomorrow."
" Okay..."
He kissed my cheek and made me feel like I was soaring. " Bye."
That night, I dreamed that I was flying.

Sunlight streamed into my window. I stretched my arms and smiled. Today was going to be a good day. I got up and quickly changed into pants and a shirt. Downstairs I ate gingerbread pancakes, and almost smiled. We all knew a rebellion was happening. Ever since the interview a few nights ago, Katniss was a mockingjay. And the Capital knew it too. They were going to get revenge on us. We just don't know how and when.

Rory arrived at my door, smiling and cheerful. He went outside for me to get my journal. Mom looked over me sternly. " Be back by 8. Your too young to have boyfriends yet."
I nodded and walked out to see Rory, sitting on the bench.

He stood up and before we left, I turned my head to see my mother smiling

He stood up and before we left, I turned my head to see my mother smiling. We walked into the meadow, peacefully. The mockingjay a were chirping today. " What's with the journal?" Rory finally asked as we settled down. " I write plants in it. "

  " Can I draw you a picture?"
" You can draw?" I asked, surprised.
" It's what I do in Mr. Pilar's math class."

As he was drawing, I hummed, not even caring he was listening. " You have a really good voice." he said, handing me my journal. The drawing was amazing. It was exactly me.
I was standing in the field, twirled around with a mockingjay flying right by me. " Thank you Rory."  He smiled. " I love it when you smile. You should try it more often."
We walked back, both in great moods. He was happy, I was happy. Even though my sister was in the Hunger Games at this very second, I liked to pretend she was here, with me.

But I never knew it would be my last happy day in District 12.
