Graduation day is finally here. I'm more than happy. I'm so ecstatic I could skip the ceremony and get on the first flight out of here. If it wasn't for my mommy, I would do just that. I'm Katoia Alexander. Today is my 18th birthday and also the day I will graduate from high school. All my life I was teased.
Kids called me a nerd because I was quite, but very smart. The Skinny girl with big teeth. Also I was late developing until recently.
Last summer my breast started growing. I am now a 36 B. Funny thing is kids still teased me. They didn't understand how I grew breast in only 3 months. Truth is my breast started growing the winter before, but I would wear big shirts to hide them thinking that would be one less thing to be teased about. It worked until my mommy threw away all my big shirts while doing a summer cleaning, and replaced them with more fitted ones.
My mommy is the best. After my father was killed in a car wreck when i was 10, she took on full responsibility of playing both roles to me and my siblings. Oh yea I have two brothers. Khordae who is 21 and Khallious who is sweet 16. I also got braces, so my buck teeth isn't so buck anymore. In 3 weeks I can get my braces removed. That is the only reason I'm not boarding a plane right after graduation ceremony. I'm also valedictorian. This would be the first time my fellow classmates will here me talk, other than giving answers in class.
After my speech there wasn't a single dry eye, and everyone was on their feey applauding me. Can you believe that? Me either! Today turned out to be a great day after all. I got invited to parties. I didn't attend any of them though. I just celebrated at dinner with my family.
Three weeks have gone by and I just got my braces removed. My teeth are now straight and pearly white. For the first time in years I smiled, please with myself and the skin I'm in.
I booked my flight for July 5th. I will be headed to Atlanta Georgia where I will be attending University of Georgia at Atlanta, or UGA ←(made it up). Yep I'm finally leaving Louisiana. When I step off that airplane, I will be a whole new me.
