The Bad News Started It All

Chapter 3

*BELLA'S POV*

"As I saw the ambulance pull out of the curb I went inside your room and started looking for an extra pair of clothes for the both of us. I sped down the street all the way here. As I was entering the Hospital, I saw some doctors and nurses kneeling down and trying to pick up a person that had obviously fainted."

I saw Amy flinch as she remembered but I continued telling her.

"At first glance I didn't know that it was you, you're usually a strong girl. But I heard the doctors say your name. I ran over to the cluster and asked them what happened. They told me that they had just given you the news that Nick had died. I mentally slapped myself. Of course you had fainted!!! Nick has been your best friend since 3rd grade!!!"

I could see Amy desperately trying not to cry.

"But there was one thing that confused me and that it stills confuses me." I knew I had to ask her.

"Amy, didn't you say that Nick only had a concussion?"

*AMY'S POV*

I was shocked. I had said that? Me? Why would I predict that? All I knew was that I was a normal teenager. Then again, I have just recently lost my memory.

I finally got some words out. "

Wait, Bella.....I'M the one who said that? Me?"

Bella looked at me like I have completly lost my mind, which I kind of did considering the fact that I didn't remember anything.

I think she must've realized that too because her expression changed. "Yes, Amy you said that. Right after you checked his pulse. Remember? You're studying medicine!!! Please try to remember!"

But I couldn't ,no matter how much I tried I couldn't. The only image that I remembered before the almost eternal darkness, is of a guy with black hair and a nice smile. If I try harder than that my head starts to hurt. As I thought of what had happened so far ; I felt lonely, very lonely. I realized that (even though I don't remember him) Nick must've played a huge part in my life for me to miss him so much.

As my tears started overflowing again, the door swung open. The one who opened it was a doctor in his early 30's.

He asked me "Are you friends of Nick Cardona?" I assumed that he was talking about my Nick. Me and Bella responded with a curt nod. He continued. "I would like to inform you that our doctors have been wrong. Nick Cardona is NOT dead. He is in a coma."
