I gobble down the eggs, which could use salt but they are in the middle of an apocalypse so I'm not judging. The bacon is so good. We killed a large amount of animals so the humans would run out of food. We kept a couple hundred in big warehouses but they are not legal for consumption until the population is built back up. So to keep it short I wasn't expecting pig for a while. "Wow this is great!" I said. "Ha yea they didn't have very good food at the bases for the 5th wave did they," she says. "You have no idea." She didn't have any idea at all. After I finished up I started to get off the bed. "Hey are you sure you are ok to walk?" Shilo asked truly concerned. "I'm fine Shilo you should worry about yourself, you are obviously falling under the spell of my rocking abs," I joke and she laughs. "Oh yea I forgot to get you a shirt," she remembers. "Or you didn't want to and you like me better without one." "Shut up, lets go," Shilo gets up and heads towards the exit. I stand and follow her outside. I feel the sun on my skin, the breeze on my face. I will never stop being amazed by this beautiful planet. "Come on," she motions me towards her. "Ok so you have obviously seen the infirmary lets go see the mess hall," Shilo says and I see Lola bounding over towards us. "Hey Lola," Shilo says and rubs her ears. "Hey girl this is Bion he is a very nice human," Shilo vouches for me. I can tell Lola recognizes my scent. When she has gone off to kill game for Shilo I have met her. I always gave her plenty of attention and food. She smiled her cute doggy smile and I pet her. "Hey baby," I say. That is what I always called her before. I never used her name. "Hmm that is strange she usually barks and growls because she thinks everyone is a threat to me. She even didn't trust Mia at first," Shilo says feeling confused. "Well I am a dog person," I say and scratch her ears. Shilo is still puzzled but shakes it off. She leads me to the mess hall. On the way there many girls eyed my shirtless body the way I only want Shilo to. We reach the hall and she explains what it is used for. "Huh interesting but uh can we get me a shirt?" I ask. "Oh so now you feel self conscious," she jokes. "Well I don't like the way these girls are looking at me." "Oh so it is bad when they do it but you are fine with me looking at you," Shilo asks. "Yes, exactly." She looks in my eyes and I try to show her what I mean. I can see she realizes it, "Oh well then." Her face starts to heat up and she starts to nervously laugh. "So the shirt?" "Yes of course," she eyes my chest one more time and leads me to the clothing tent. "This is where we store clothes and make new ones out of scraps," Shilo explains. She leads me to a table with men's t-shirts. "There might not be that many that fit you, you are quite tall. How tall are you anyway?" "I am 6' 3'' what about you?" I ask her. "6' exactly," she says. I pick up a long black shirt and put it over my head. It fits well, it even matches my black cargo pants. My combat boots are navy blue so it all works fine. "Good?" Shilo asks. "Yep it fits fine." "Do I have to pay?" I ask. "Nah everyone gets their first piece of clothing free. That is how I got my shirt," Shilo explains. It is a pretty dark purple tank-top. I see beyond her and notice a table with jewelry. That gives me an idea. "So what do I have pay to get something?" I question. "I don't know I just got here shortly before you. Lets ask," she suggested. "Hey man what do you have to pay to get something?" The guy looks at me with a bored expression, "Depends what you got. You can exchange different clothes for it, you can pay with favors, or extra food." Interesting system the humans have. "Thanks bro," I tell the guy. We leave the tent and she shows me where the other people stay. She informs me what tents to stay away from at night, if you know what I mean. "Where is your tent?" I ask. "Mine? Well Mia's room mate um well he uh," She clears her throat. "He was killed by a silencer on a hunt. So I am her new roomy." Shilo smiles. If the world wasn't so complicated I would want to build a house with Shilo and live a long happy human life with her. "Cool where do I get to stay?" Shilo thinks about it," I don't know you should ask Mia." I will try to get a tent close to them. I need to be close to Mia to fulfill this task and I want to protect Shilo. She is tough but she wasn't trained from the beginning of her life up until now to fight. I was and intend to keep her safe. "Any chance I can be close to your tent," I ask trying to be subtle. Shilo looks at me and I know what she is thinking. She smiles and I'm glad she likes the idea even though it was not my intention. "I will see what I can do," She says encouragingly. We go back to the mess hall to look for Mia. I see her among a group of people. We walk over to her. "Hey are you guys ready to go? Come on people you need to be extra focused, I will not be with you on this one," Mia starts rambling off commands. She sees us and after a few more commands the group disperses. "Sorry guys they are going on a rescue, some guy could have sworn he saw a girl watching him pee," Mia says with a gross look on her face. "Well that guy seems a little too desperate for love," I say. The girls smiled at that. "What can I do for you two?" "Well I was wondering if I get a tent?" I asked. "But of course," Mia said. "Any special suggestions?" I pretended that I was thinking when I already knew what I wanted, a tent with Shilo but next to hers will have to due. "Can I have one near you guys," I ask raising my eyebrows up and down jokingly. "Haha sure Lily just moved in with Jared so there is an open tent next to us," she says. We head over to my tent. We all walk in and I see a large cot with a blanket and pillow. "I know it doesn't look like much but at least you are not sleeping on the ground," Mia says. "No it is perfect," I say and look over to Shilo and gaze into her eyes. They are the darkest brown I've ever seen on a human. They are like an abyss that I am exploring in but if I get too deep I will be lost.
