It’s been a week and Jessie is still upset. I’ve been trying to come up with ways to get Jessie to feel better. Nothing seems to work, though. I’ve tried to not be so worried, but it’s no use. Today I had to go to work. I’m hoping that will help me get my mind off of Jessie.

Work was going well. I had sort of forgotten about Jessie. I was surprised how busy we were today. The biggest surprise was when Josh came over and gave me a lovely flower. He told me that it was a Primrose and that it had a special meaning behind it. Of course, Josh decided not to tell. He wanted me to figure it out. After several guesses he just laughed and said he needed to leave. He told me to keep guessing, and let him know when I figure it out. So with a kiss goodbye he left me to figure out the meaning behind these beautiful flowers. Just then, Joi came up to me. Joi works at the bookstore too, and we’re pretty good friends.

“I know where you can find out what they mean.” she announced.

                “Really?”

“Yep, I love finding out the meanings of flowers! I know a website that has all sorts of flower meanings.”

“Do you think it’ll have Primroses?”

“I don’t see why not. I’ve seen those flowers before.”

“Well, it couldn’t hurt!” I say as we walked over to a computer. She typed in the address and we begin to scroll down looking for the flower we needed. There were tons of different flowers and the meanings. Finally we found Primroses. It has two meanings, “I can’t live without you” and “Young love”.

“Awww! Josh is so sweet!” Joi exclaimed.

“Yeah, I’m pretty lucky. I didn’t know flowers can tell you things like that.”

“You learn something new every day!” she laughed.  I look over at her and laugh too. Joi has a cute laugh. I love how her whole face smiles. Her red hair and green eyes always remind me of Christmas; which she informed me that was her favorite time of year. Joi was fun to be around but not quite as much as Jessie. Oh great, I’m thinking about Jessie again.

“Hmmm, maybe I should give Josh a flower back with a special meaning.”

“You should! I’ve got to get back to working but you can keep looking. Here, you can either scroll up and down until you find the right flower; or you can go up here and type what meaning you want. Good luck!” she said then walked back to the front desk.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to say to Josh, so I just scrolled around. Finally I came up to the perfect flower! T he Arbutus flower was perfect! It wasn’t too girly but really cool looking! I looked up the local flower shop and I was in luck! After work I drove over to the flower shop and picked up my flower. Then I called Josh to see what he was up to now.

“Did you figure out what your flower meant?” he answered.

                “What ever happened to ‘hello’?”
