9. The Quest

It was a lovely afternoon in Aaa, and Fionna sat on the couch, in her red pajamas, playing video games. Marshall on the other hand was searching through the fridge for strawberries. Why weren't they on a adventure you ask? Aaa had been very quiet latley, and there was nothing to do.There was no exciting mission. So the two excitement seeking beings were stuck in the treehouse. 

"Hey Fi I'm soooo bored." Marshall whined from the kitchen. Fionna huffed, and smashed her head into a pillow. 

"Me tooo, but there's globbing nothing to do." 

They both drifted off into to space, until they heard the phone ring. They both lunged from their positions on the couch, and ran to the phone. 

"The phones mine Marshy!" Fionna said tripping him. Marshall let out a groan of pain, and grabbed her ankle, easily swinging her over his shoulder. 

"What the hay hay Marshall!" Marshall laughed, and picked up the phone with Fionna still on his shoulder. 

"Hello, this is Marshall Lee speaking?" Marshall said. 

"Why hello Marshall, it's Gumball." Marshall felt all of his excitement leave his body. 

"Ugh Gumbutt what do you want?" Fionna looked at him and let out a snicker.

"Marshall don't be a ass, I have a quest for you and Fionna, that is if you choose to except it." 

 "Oh your boringness what is the quest to seek out an apple from the market?" 

 "No shut up Marshall, this is a actual quest." 

 "Okay spit it out we don't have all day."

 "I want you and Fionna to go to the Garden of Time, and retrieve 30 berries of freeze." 

 "One second let me consult with Fionna." 

 Marshall placed Fionna on the floor "Hey bunny want to go on a quest to retrieve the berries of freeze?" 

Fionna stroked her chin for a moment and then replied with a heck yes. I mean it sounded intriguing, and besides there was nothing else to do. Even it was a quest from gumwad she would take it. Marshall picked up the phone 

"Okay Gumball we accept, now what do we have to do?" 

 "First of all pack up some clothes and necessities for a week or so, and come to the kingdom, I will tell you everything you need to know."

 "Alright be there in thirty goodbye." with that Marshall hung up.

 "Are you sure you want to do this Fionna, I mean it is from Gumball." Fionna just gave him a I don't care look, and went up stairs to pack. 

"Pack up your stuff Marsh, I will be done in a few." she shouted. 

The human ran up the stairs, and immediately notified Cake that she was going on a quest with Marshall. Her sister texted her back that it was cool, and to try to check in with her whenever she had some sort of service. She smiled this was going to be fun.

Fionna came down the stairs, fifty minutes later, with her backpack stuffed to the brim with items. 

"Jeez it took you long enough." Marshall complained. 

Fionna rolled her eyes "I have a lot of stuff, plus I needed to organize." 

"Ya ya whatever slowpoke let's go." he said grabbing his umbrella, and floating out into the fresh afternoon air. 

Fionna hurried after him, her blond hair waving behind her in a ponytail. They made it to the Candy Kingdom in record time, and ran up to the castle doors. Gumball stood there a worried expression on his face.
