Day 9:
"Hey Marshall look ahead, I think it's the garden!" Fionna shouted. Marshall stared off into the distance and let out a depressed sigh. "Oh ya." he said sarcastically waving one of his hands in the air. Fionna groaned, and kept walking past the indifferent vampire. After what happened in the cave their relationship just wasn't the same. It had been pretty fragile before, but now it was so shattered even superglue couldn't fix it. She was trying very hard to be the optimistic one, however Marshall's attitude was pissing her off.
Fionna started to jog towards the garden. It was beautiful, the flowers were vibrant, and many water falls fell around making it have a serene feeling. What set it apart from regular gardens however is that the flowers had tiny clocks embed into their centers, and gears paved the pathway. She was enthralled by the beauty. It was like she was in a fairy tale. That is until the sassy Marshall Lee appeared behind her.
"Ugh, what is this? It's to bright here." he grumbled.
"Shut it dude." Fionna barked. Marshall complied and zipped his lips. They walked a bit until they saw a part of the garden that was covered in glittering ice.
"That's it, where the berries lets go." he said. Fionna nodded and they headed into the icy part of the area. It was freezing, and the adventurer was wishing she had worn her jacket. They walked deeper into the cold area, until she spotted the bush.
"How many are we supposed to pick?" she asked. Marshall shrugged, and zoomed forward wanting to get this over with as fast as possible. He felt like there was something watching him. Timidly he reached out his hand ready to grab a berry, but as soon as he did the earth started to shake.
"What the hell did you do Marshall!?" Fionna cried out in distress.
"I don't know Fionna! I just poked the damn berry, don't blame me."
"Blame you I'm not-"
"Shut up and be quite your pissing me off." Marshall said interrupting Fionna.
"I'm pissing you off?! You have been quite and distant sine the accident!"
"I'm a danger to you, why can't you just let me be seen and not heard, like a stoic bodyguard!" Marshall argued.
Tears pricked at Fionna's sapphire blue eyes "Because your my best bro and I still have feelings for you. I care about what happened, but we can fix it we always do."
Marshall was about to speak until a deep and ancient voice interrupted them.
"Distraught fighting couple why have you come here?!" It roared.
Fionna and Marshall stopped and looked up at where the voice was coming from. Before them stood a giant lion with the head of a female.
Fionna was a bit awed by the creature and was at loss for words. However Marshall didn't look very impressed.
"What do you want lion lady?" he said with boredom. The creature seemed very offended, and her cheeks puffed up.
"Why I'll have you know that I am a Sphinx, the Sphinx Morgan. And I have been protecting the berries of freeze for 1,000 years. And I am certainly not handing them over to young punks like you!" the Sphinx answered with a hint of hurt in her voice.
Fionna gave Marshall a piercing look of anger, and went up to the Sphinx.
"I'm so sorry for his actions, he's just a bit of a grumpy bat." Fionna said apologetically.
Morgan squinted her eyes for a moment. "You seem like a nice girl why are you with that demonic idiot?"
"Hold up! Demonic idiot? I'll have you know I'm a King and a heir!" Marshall erupted.
