C H A P T E R F O U R T E E N -
H O M E V I S I TI finally got his address and I was scared to say the least. I was visiting a boy's house which I've never been to.
And I'm not even sure if he wants me there or not. I was beyond anxious and wanting to run away and forget it, but here I was, in front of his door.
I was contemplating on whether to knock or run but the door opened by itself and I got startled I almost dropped the grocery I brought from a nearby convenience store.
The woman looked like she was in her early 40's and she resembled Marco, though her eyes were warm and fuzy and Marco was.. well, cold and bland. I froze in my state. "H-hello."
I wanted to kick myself. "Are you Marco's classmate?" she says with a smile and I couldn't be more than grateful.
"Y-yes, I have here his notes."
"Come in," she opened the door wide for me to enter and I stood, staring the interior of his house. There seemed to be so many pictures framed by the walls. "I-I'm Star Butterfly, thank you for letting me in."
"Oh no worries Star, just call me auntie," she chuckled and I became flustered. "-A-auntie?"
"That's how people mostly call me. Mrs. Diaz seems too formal you know? Anyway, Star, it's really a good timing you came here," she clasp my hands. "--I'm called in for work and I didn't want to leave Marco but he insisted. Would you mind watching over him?"
"M-me?" I stood frozen. Me? And him? All alone in this house?
"Please Star," she pleads into my eyes and I was only supposed to bring him the notes and some medicine and I couldn't help but give in. Her eyes sparkled and she grinned. "Thank you Star! I hope you'll stay here until dinner. I'll be cooking some delicious food."
I nod and watched as she head out and closed the door. It's been a long time since I last eaten something homemade. My mother rarely cooks and she's often out so I have the house all by myself. But when my mother does get time, she doesn't waste time to make it up to me.
I reluctantly head upstairs, my heart beating so fast I'd be deaf. Every step I take makes a creak and it makes me even more anxious. There were three rooms upstairs and I immediately knew where his were since it was the only dark colored door.
Well he's kinda angsty, maybe.
I knock on the door three times before I twist open the knob and opened it, my heart racing even faster. But he's there, in a peaceful state, sleeping. I close the door behind me and dropped the groceries and notes on his desk. I placed my hand on his forehead and winced when it was too hot.
"I'm stupid," I whisper.
Since he's still asleep, I thought I might as well prepare some soup downstairs. I head down and check the ingredients on the refrigerator and cupboards, hoping that there would be so I could make him something warm.
I'm not really the greatest cook, but I can make up a normal meal--I know everyone doubts me since my chocolate was salty but I kinda got clumsy there.
