Garret POV

I climbed into my bed trying to figure out my situation, how in the world do I get my human mate, who happens to be dating a hunter over for dinner. Great just great, I'm screwed. Right as I was about to fall asleep my phone began to buzz, who can it be at this time, even though its only seven at night.

'Caller ID Lola'

And for the first time my heart didn't speed up from her name, well that's what happens when you find your mate. You lose feelings for anyone else except your family and mate. Well she is my cousin, but only my rank.

"Hello" I answered the phone waiting for Lola's voice to enter the speaker.

"Hey you okay, why did you run off from the pack yesterday?" She asked really worried, well now the ball is in my court tell her about the mate situation or keep it to myself. "Uh, Garret you still there?" Oh shit been thinking to myself a bit too long.

"Yeah I'm okay, just wanted to have a bit alone time to myself and my wolf." I lied, well shit I'll tell you imagination of a person when Lola finds out I lied and I found my mate I'll never see the next moon.

"Well that's great, so what you think, we go for a run in our wolfs tomorrow evening?" I felt the corner of my mouth turn up into a smile since I'll like to go for a run. I agreed with Lola and hung up, once my phone was on the charger I walked over to my bathroom and got into a nice shower, hoping the water would wash away my pain.

Once I was in my bed finally I just watched the ceiling fan spin in circles, thinking on everything that happened. First I got my wolf, who was a female but now a male, second found my mate who is human, found out she was dating a hunter, and lastly my family wants to have her over. Soon enough I finally drifted into sleep.

There she sat, her black curls flowing down her back. She sat there with her friends gossiping or maybe just talking, but I could hear her giggles which brought me so much joy. I was suddenly startled by the most disgusting smell ever, hunter. I growled lowly, than I felt his hand on my shoulder.

"Come on Garret, we don't need to make a scene." I nodded and got up from my seat, I glanced back at where my mate sat. I smiled than turned to leave, finally we reached the area where either one of us shall die. "Let's get this over with." And again I nodded.

Quickly I shifted into my wolf and got ready for the battle, I took a deep breath and launched myself at the man who needs to die. Rights as I was about to reach him my heart felt heavy and I fell on the ground. Than I knew my mate was killed, but how I looked up toward the man and my wolf howled in pain where we saw my mate in his arms with her throat slashed.

I shifted back into my human form, I just started to cry loudly. Than I looked up toward the an once more and he was gone but my mate was now on the ground, lifeless. I crawled over to her but it was painful, finally reaching her I held her. Than something sharp hit my side, I looked down and saw blood,"What?" I questioned than my mate moved in my arms, I quickly looked back at her with a hope but I was all of a sudden attacked by her.

"GARRET WAKE UP! WAKE UP! YOUR HAVING A NIGHTMARE!" My mother yelled from the distance, that's when I launched myself from my sleep. I felt the beads of sweat running down my face, or they might be tears. I looked at my mother and just grabbed her into a hug, she hugged me back soothing me.

"Do you want to talk about it Garret?" I knew my mother just wanted to make sure I'm okay, but I'm not sure. Than something clicked she needs to know.

"Mom, my mate can't come tomorrow. Sh-shes human." My mom nodded while rubbing my back. "But that's not it, she is dating a hunter." My mom didn't stiffen from my words just kept soothing me.

"Okay, I understand Garret. I'll speak with your fathers about canceling the meal, but I want you to understand that if you love this girl than you'll get her at the end. Just remember your only fifteen Garret, so if you need to wait a few years to get her than do so, but make sure you watch over her till your ready." My mothers words sunk into my head, I nodded so she know I understood.

After a few more minutes of my mother holding me, she left me to fall asleep which I didn't. I claimed out of my bed and grabbed my suitcase from my closet, I hope I don't regret this. I began packing clothes and some of my personal belongings, I ripped a piece of paper out of my notebook and wrote a letter to my family.

"Dear Family,
I hope you guys aren't mad at me for leaving, but I needed to. I'll be back in two years, and within those two years I'll be at a Alpha training camp. So its not that I'm running away, I'm going to go train. Please tell Cory to stay way from my clothes. I love you guys.
Garret."

I grab my suitcase and headed over to my window, I look back at the letter for a second before jumping out the window, shifting to my wolf and running to the forest. I'll see you in two years mate. I thought while shifting back into my human form and entering the train which would be taking me all the way over to California. For two years.
