-Ashton's POV-

"I don't care." She said before she fell asleep in my arms.

I looked over at Michael who was watching us with confusion spread across his face. "What's wrong with her?" He asked.

I grabbed my phone and scrolled up to the first message. I handed it to him and told him to read it.

"When she says that the voice was telling her to do things, does that mean....?" He asked, glancing at her wrists.

I sighed and nodded. I looked up to see all of the boys were looking at us.

"Is everything okay?" Harry asked.

"Not really. She was telling me about this voice in her head. It calls her names and tells her to do... things, and it yells at her. When she was sitting there, it started talking to her. It was telling her we don't care and to go do those things. We were messaging each other so I could try to keep her calm, but after a minute she didn't answer. She was staring at the ground for like 3 minutes, crying, before she noticed and ran over to me. Then she fell asleep." I explained.

"Woah...." Zayn said.

"What do you even do for something like that?" Liam asked.

"I went through something similar, just not as severe. The voice went away after I had the band. They made me feel loved, and I was never just sitting there, doing nothing. So basically, if we try to always keep her distracted and hide away anything that might trigger her, the voice should go away. If it doesn't at first, it will while we help her get rid of her depression, at least, that's how it went for me." Luke explained.

"We're all here for her. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We are always up to something, so distracting her shouldn't be to hard. We just gotta make sure we are careful about her surroundings." Louis said.

"Thank you, guys. It means a lot." I said just above a whisper.

I gently stood up while holding Jasmine, and carried her to a bed. "Sleep tight, angel." I whispered. I kissed her forehead and went back to the living room area.

"It was nice talking to you lads and meeting Jasmine, but it's getting kind of late and we have a recording session in the morning. We should be heading out." Niall explained.

"Alright. It was nice talking to you mates. See you tomorrow?" Calum asked.

"Yeah, we should meet up for lunch or something." Harry suggested.

"Yeah, cool. We can work something out. Text us!" I chimed in.

We said bye to the 1D boys and retreated to our own rooms. The hotel rooms we are staying in are large enough to live in, if you had to.

Anyways, me, Calum, and Luke all shared one room. We went to bed but I couldn't fall asleep. All I could do was think about Jasmine. She's been through so much. She always seems happy on the outside, but on the inside, she's so broken. She's shattered. And I'm going to figure out how to be her glue.

I closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep again, but I heard a quiet sob, coming from beside me. I slowly rolled over to see Luke with his head buried in his pillow. At least I know I'm not alone.

"Luke?" I whispered worriedly. I'm the oldest out of all of us so I always feel the need to make sure everyone is okay, but it's not a one sided relationship. These guys take care of me too, when I need it.

"Hm?" He hummed in response.

"What's wrong?"

"She doesn't deserve it. Sh-she's so beautiful and strong and perfect. I know w-what she's going through r-right now and it's just not f-fair! She deserves better! That voice is gonna chew her up and spit her out before it gets better." He cried.

I didn't say anything, I just pulled him closer to me and let him cry into my shoulder.

"We need to help her." He whispered when he calmed down.

"We will." Was the last thing I said before I fell asleep.

~•~•~

I woke up to the sound of the cheery voice I've come to love.

"Hardcore Lashton moment!" Jasmine quietly screeched.

I opened my eyes to see Luke sleeping with his head on my chest and my arm around him. I abruptly sat up trying to remember what happened last night. Then the memories flooded back.

"Morning Ashy!" She smiled, but this smile was different. Her eyes were lit up, they were brighter. This was a real smile. I finally learned the difference! I can use this to my advantage, in a good way of course

"Good morning, princess. Did you sleep good?" I asked.

Her eye color dimmed down a little but the smile never faded. "Yeah, I slept okay, I guess." At least she's being partially honest. "We're going out for breakfast so get Luke and Calum up and meet come get us when your ready." She said as she exited.

I quickly got the boys awake and started getting ready. I have to admit, I was really happy that I can see the difference. Now I can really help her!

"Why are you in such a good mood?" Calum asked.

I glanced at the door to make sure she wasn't there. "I figured something really big out." I said quietly.

"And that is..." Luke said.

"I can tell the difference between Jasmines real smile and her fake smile!" I proudly stated.

"Dude, now we can tell when she's actually happy! How can you tell?" Calum asked.

"If you look carefully, the color of her eyes are a little brighter. You can see them get brighter and duller when her mood changes. It's amazing." I explained.

"Let's see if we can figure out too!" Luke said.

"Duh!" Calum responded while smacking the back of Luke's head.
