Spark's P.O.V.
______________
It had been years since the dragon smaug attacked and took the dwarf kingdom Arebor. I was one of the dwarves that managed to escape. My best friend made sure I got out.
I was in seclusion. Not as a punishment, it was my choice. After the escape from Arebor, I discovered the identity of my father. He was an elf. Thranduil, to be exact, king of Mirkwood. He betrayed the dwarves when we asked for help. Not to defeat the dragon, but we asked for food and shelter. He turned us away. This is why I was in seclusion. I was ashamed to have him as a father. I could not tell my friend though. He would hate me as much as he hates my father. So I just left him and the other dwarves silently one night.
One day, Gandalf came to my door.
"Ah, Spark! I was hoping to meet you here." he said.
"I do not go by that name anymore. I go by Shinia." I corrected him.
"Why? I liked your old name better." he replied
"That name reminds me of... him"
"You still never told me how you met him."
By him, Gandalf and I meant Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thrain, son of Thror, King under the Mountain.
"Fine, you really want to know how I met him! Here it is then."

I was young at the time, only about 14 by human standards. I was different. Unlike all the other dwarves, even other females, I did not have a beard. This was unheard of. I was bullied also because I was extremely small, even by dwarf standards. I would get hit a lot, but that never put me down.
One day, I was really getting hit hard. I had just gone for a walk and been ambushed. I would not cry, even when I had several cuts on face. All of a sudden, my attackers stopped and everyone around fell silent. They were still in a circle around me, but not attacking. Then I found out what made them stop. The dwarf prince who was only two years older than me by human standards.
"What is going on here?" I heard him ask in his deep, comanding voice.
My attackers parted, and I saw him up close for the first time ever.
He had long jet black hair, and icy blue eyes that didn't show any emotion.
"Nothing, My Lord. We found her like this and we were trying to help." the leader of my attackers says.
"LIARS! If you were trying to help, you wouldn't have all that blood on your hands. you would have bandages and water. These wounds came from the last few moments before I got here. What has she done to deserve this from you?" He exclaimed.
"We... How... She's different." the guy stuttered.
"Leave, now."
"No."
"WHAT!?"
"You are not king yet.You have no control over me."
Then one of the prince's guards spoke up. "He might not, but I do. Go."
"Ok, father." the attacker sighed.
Prince Thorin walked over to where I was sitting up, leaning against a tree. I was quickly losing consciousness because of all the blows to my head.
"Are you ok?" he asked me softly. I just nodded. Then everything went black.
When I woke up, the prince was carrying me. His gaurds asked him to let them handle this situation, but he insisted on carrying me himself. I passed out again.
