Spark's P.O.V.
______________
The next morning, I was woken by a soft knocking on the bedroom door.
"I'm up, I'm up!" I mumbled.
"Well, hurry up or we'll leave without you!" It was Thorin's deep, comanding voice. He wouldn't leave me, no matter whose daughter I am. He's too curious about who I really am.
I walked out of the room once I was dressed, just to find Thorin leaned against the door. When I opened it, he almost fell, which made me laugh so hard my sides hurt.
"What was that for?" he asked in shock.
"How was I supposed to know you were outside the door to my room spying on me?" I accused him.
"I-What.. No, I was not! I was just... waiting." he replied blushing deeply.
I walked away, laughing even harder at that. He just hated me more.
When I was standing in the kitchen after I had eaten, I felt someone watching me again.
I turned around once again, just to find Thorin with that look on his face again. I was really starting to wonder, because in the last few years he would give me that look, but he would actually look in my eyes back then. I asked him what it was for, but he just said he had no idea what I was talking about.
***Flashback***
Thorin and I were in my room talking, a week before Smaug took Arebor. We had just gotten back from the town, and were now bored. I was sitting with my legs crossed in the center of my bed, and Thorin was laying on his back across the foot of the bed, staring at the ceiling. We were silent for a few moments before I had the feeling that someone was watching me. I looked at Thorin, just to find him staring at me. He had a new look on his face, an emotion I couldn't read.
"Thorin?" Our eyes met when he looked up at me to answer.
"Yeah, Spark?"
"I can read every single one of your emotions, just not this one. The look on your face, I can't tell what you're thinking."
"Is that really such a bad thing?" He was giving me that sideways grin again.
"I just want to know for future reference."
"Well in that case, you probably don't want to know."
"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I? You're my best friend."
"That's the thing though, Spark. If you found out, it would probably ruin our friendship."
"How could anything ruin our friendship Thorin? I just don't see it as possible."
"Please, just don't ask anymore of me. I'm not even sure what the emotion is. Just please accept the fact that our friendship could be severed if this turns out to be what I think. That or it will improve."
Now there was a pleading tone in his voice, and a sadness in his eyes.
"Ok. Sorry Thorin."
***End of Flashback***
I didn't know whether to ask Gandalf about it or not. I decided not to ask him, for fear he would talk to Thorin about it.
An hour later, we were off. I was feeling very self consciousness because of this morning and last night. Especially after Thorin had leaned on my door. It was starting to creep me out.
When we set up camp, Fili challenged me to a sword fight, the exact same way as Thorin used to when we were younger.
***Flashback***
A few years ago, Thorin was showing me how to fight witha sword. He tried to teach me by standing in front of me, challenging me. The only reason this failed was because I didn't know how to hold the sword right. He tried to show me and adjust my hands while standing in front of me. That failed to, because he could not get it right, without feeling like he was in my position, so then he just stood behind me, and was finally able to adjust my grip, but something was still wrong. The sword itself was screwed up.
Once we got me a good sword, we had a sword fight. For some reason, neither of us could win. It was a tie for five minutes.
"You, my friend, are a natural with a sword." he laughed, gasping for air.
We actually laughed for a long while afterwards.
***End of Flashback***
What I wanted to know was when Dis, Thorin's sister, had two boys who act just like their uncle. I mean, honestly, Dis used to complain how she hated Thorin, and how she would lose her mind if she ever had kids that acted like him... or me for that matter.
I creamed Fili in three minutes, then three others wanted to go against me.
