Kaya's POV
After everyone gets to my house, I suggest we go sit in my room. Without my parents here, the living room/kitchen feels too big. I sit on my bed and ask Payton to sit next to me. She sits down slowly, like she is scared to wrinkle my already bunched and wrinkled, bed spread. "Oh come on." I say, smiling at her. "I won't bite." She grins, and plops down next to me. I look over at Thomas. He is staring at Payton. She doesn't seem to notice. I laugh inside, because after he broke up with his previous girlfriend, he told me he would never date anyone ever again. I knew he would come to his senses. Payton is very beautiful, she has big brown eyes, a small nose, and boy-length brown hair, which suits her. Although, I don't think it's her beauty that make him stare.
Thomas's POV
Her eyes are like magnets. I can't help staring at them. She looks happier then she did at Starbucks. I'm glad Kaya invited her, but I wish we could be alone, I want to talk to her. Ugh, she is so beautiful. I wish I could just - No! I stop that thought before I do anything drastic. I can't think of her like that. I know all too well what love does to people.Kaya's POV
"Hey!" I break the silence. "Does anyone want to play Mario Kart?"
"Heck yeah!" Dylan shoots off the floor as if it's on fire, and turns on the tv. I pass out the remotes.
"Uh oh, we have five people." Everyone has a remote except me. Payton tries to hand me her remote. "That's ok! We need snacks anyway." I close my door behind me. Payton is so nice. Maybe we should sit with strangers more often! Dylan would love that.
