-MAGIC! Rude.

***Landon's POV***

It felt good to run. My paws dug into the soil and my nose twitched at the different scents that caught in the wind whipping at my fur. Feeling someone bump into my side, I looked sideways to see Lia gaining on me, playfully nipping at my heels. Grunting,I sped up and she recognized the challenge. She darted forward at full speed so that we were neck in neck.

Amelia was beautiful. In her human form and her wolf one. She was a white wolf with black paws, her coat full and shiny. Her stormy gray eyes sparkled with excitement of our race and I couldn't help but feel the normal rush of protectiveness wash over me. She was reckless, spoiled, self centered and inconsiderate at times. But she was also fun and cheerful like sunshine, loving and adventurous, sensitive and bold. She was my sister and my best friend in all the world. And I would always be there for her. Just like she is for me.

We came to a stop eventually to rest.

'So he's not coming? It's kind of late.' She asked through our mind link.

I sat down beside her and looked up at the darkening sky. 'I dunno.'

'Too bad,' she sighed. 'I could've had a bit of fun with him.' I stiffened but shook the weird emotion that came over me and set my gaze on Lia.

'Why do you do that kind of stuff?'

Her ears twitched. 'What kind of stuff?'

I huffed and struggled not to roll my eyes. 'You know, Lia... Look, I know you like Dylan but you shouldn't use every guy you come across to make him jealous. You just gotta, you know, date 'cause you want to. I think that's better than playing with someone's emotions and then throwing them away when Dylan gives you the time of day. Besides, we have another two years to find our mates. So either you two should date or just exclusively date someone else without a hidden agenda.'

'Damn, that's the most I ever heard you speak in one sitting little bro,' she muttered and narrowed her eyes. I kept my face blank even when it stung a bit when she said that. If anything, I only really ever talked to her with more than a few sentences. 'And I think Nick already knows the deal so it's no biggie if he agrees to right?'

I stared at her. 'If he agrees...but Lia, this has to stop. You think I like it when I hear people say my sister gets around? That she is a tease?' I blurted out recalling what I heard one of our classmates say last week. It was a boy Lia "dated" for all of two days before Dylan got to them. 'This has got to stop, it isn't right, it isn't fair--'

'Okay DAD!' She snarled baring her teeth at me in anger and got up to her feet. 'Why do you even care? Now of all times? What? You got a crush on Nick or something?' She snorted in laughter. 'I don't think he rolls that way. So butt out. I know what I'm doing.'

I got up too and said nothing wanting to go back to the manor and listen to music. If she was going to get this angry with me, I'd just give her time to cool off. I began to walk away when Lia's footstep trailed behind me.

'Where are you going?' She called after me as I sped up. Not answering I began to trot until I gained into a full blown run. 'Landon! Wait up!' My wolf grunted indifferently and sharply changed direction to throw her off which worked because she stumbled a ways behind. 'Stop!' She growled loudly and ran as fast as she could before leaping in the air to land on my back. I gasped and fell to the ground with her heavy hide on me. I didn't move and she panted above me, a sound escaping her throat in victory.
