Chapter 5

I found myself being lead through an exquisite restaurant full of brown, gold and cream shades. The place oozed of exclusivity and a shiver of unwelcome skittered up my back as the rich and famous x-rayed my body from the roots of my hair to the tip of my toes.

I swallowed feeling like I was a goldfish being circled by piranhas. In the background, I could hear Bobby's high pitched voice greeting certain people as we followed the maître d' to the large oak double doors.

Curiosity spiked in some eyes as the maître d' opened the double doors that had "Private" scrolled across in beautiful writing. My eyes fell on a particular young stunning blonde sitting across from a white haired man and a look of distain crossed her face. A bright spark of hunger passed in her baby blue eyes, ravenous to do anything to get through these doors.

I straightened my back as I entered and found myself in a stunning white marble room with gold trimmings. The sound of men's laughter filled the room, over powering the soft tinkling of female laughter.

If I felt like I didn't belong in the front restaurant, I definitely didn't belong here.

Bobby hurried off to say hello to his other half, leaving me to look awkwardly around. It wasn't until a shadow from the corner of my eye touched my back that I realised that Diego had come to meet me. That light brush had my skin shivering in a whole different response.

"You're a vision, Alley." His soft words whispered in my ear, his breath tickling in a sensational way.

"You don't look so bad yourself," I smiled back, hoping to hide my rising fear.

Breathe, Alley. I chided myself, over and over again.

Blinking, I noted Diego had lowered his lips to my ear and whispered, "How has your day been, Gatito?"

An ice cold shiver ran up my spine, sending small zaps of pleasure. My teeth worried on my lip as I fought the intimate feeling.

Defensively, I snapped, "You might have known, if you didn't bother to pawn me off."

A hushed chuckle escaped Diego's lips before his sensual voice whispered, "Could it be that you might have actually missed me today, Gatito? I'm flattered."

My mouth dropped in shock. Diego didn't miss my reaction, his steel eyes lighting up. A furious puff escaped my lips as the hand on my back stroked up and down.

Angling my body away from him, I hissed, "You should be so vein to think so! I've thoroughly enjoyed myself today and so has your bank card!"

A knowing smile spread across his striking face, "Ah yes, I know. Bobby has certainly exceeded my expectations in ensuring you spent my money well."

"I hate you!" I spat, a little louder than I expected, drawing the on look of curious stares.

Women draped in diamonds and fur gawked openly in our direction. Some leaned in and whispered to the ladies next to them.

Diego grabbed my waist and pulled my body towards him, his lips coming down on mine firmly, demandingly. Breath caught in my throat, I revelled in the texture of his lips against my own.

Shivers of pleasure sparked across my skin, the bubbling anger diluting to lust. My head angled back to allow his towering figure full access to my lips.

But too soon his lips left mine, travelled across my cheek, and ended by placing a gentle kiss against my earlobe.

"You may hate me, Alley, but you sold your womb to me quicker than a prostitute dropping her knickers for a few dollars. You should hate yourself before you hate others."
