I wake up to my phone going off. I look at the time... 6:25! SHOOT! The bus comes at 6:35! I rush around the room grabbing stuff I need for school and throwing it in my bag. I run to my closet and grab the first thing I see, which happens to be, some jeans, batman sweatshirt, sneakers, and a grey hoodie. I throw my shoes on, grab my bag, and run out the door with a pop tart.

Once I get to the bus stop and see people there I calm down a bit. I set my bag down and put the stuff in it right, then I ties my shoes and put my hoodie on right. Lastly, I grab my glasses out of my bag and put them on. Once I'm finished will all of that the bus pulls up and I get on last, like always. I head to my normal seat towards the middle of the bus and pull out a book

The bus finally gets to the school and I get off and go straight to me locker when I get a text message.

Meet me at the gym right after school. Need to start your training As Soon As Possible.

Okay

The gym? Great. I'm not the most active person out there, but I'm also not lazy/not active at all. I still don't like the thought of going to the gym. I grab my science book, my journal, and other things I needed for science. Once I grab everything I head to class with so many questions about later today and all this spy talk.

The first thing I notice when I get to class are my friends. Rose and Emily. They don't look very happy with me.

"What's wrong?" I mouth. They both turn and look at each other and then Emily starts writing something on a piece of paper. Emily hands the paper to Rose, who hands it to me. It says...

Marianne, ever since you got that call that one day it seems like you've been ignoring us. We miss old Marianne. Whatever that call was about, it changed you and we want to know why. If you can't tell us then maybe we aren't best friends like we thought we were. You're keeping something from both of us. Are we okay? What you should be asking is are YOU okay?

Once I finish reading it I put it in my pocket before the teacher sees. Then I look at the two people I thought would be my best friends forever. I need to tell them. I can't lie anymore or I'll lose them for good. I made my decision, I'll tell them the basics but I'll leave Zoe, Eric, and Lynch out. I'll also leave out the big mission details unless Lynch allows me to tell them.

*Time skip to after class*

"Rose, Emily! Please wait we need to talk!" I yell as I hurry to catch up with them. The two girls look at each other then stop and turn around.

"Hey, look. I'm really sorry, you guys are my best friends I would do anything not to lose you two. I didn't even know I was avoiding you guys until you told me. Sorry," I explain.

"Okay, we forgive you, but what was up? What was the call about and are you okay? The truth please." Emily says.

"Okay. I'll tell you as long as you two promise not to tell a soul!"

"We promise," Rose and Emily agree.

"I'll start off at the beginning, with the call. The call was from someone saying I was a spy and had to meet them by the bridge in town square. That's why I left early... so I could meet them there. You don't know how much it killed me to lie to you two. I was told to come and not tell anyone so I didn't know what to do. I'm not even supposed to be telling you now so it's important you don't tell a soul. Anyways, when I met them there they told me they wanted me on their team as a spy and that I had skills/talents they could use. Once they finished explaining themselves they told me I had a choice whether or not to join."

"You said yes right!" Rose bursts out. "Whoops, sorry! Continue!"

"Yes, I said I would join them. When I was texting you guys I actually just got done texting the other two people on the team. Before you ask, it's only us three not including the leader that recruited me. Today they are supposed to start my training today after school because we have a big mission coming up really soon. So! Now you know what's been going on and that I'm not purposely ignoring you."

"Wow. Out of all things I did not see that one being the reason," Emily said clearly shocked.

"Same." Rose agrees.

"You guys don't understand how sorry I am. For lying, for avoiding you, for not telling you, everything." I say.

"It's okay! We already said it's fine. To be honest I'm glad to have our friend back," Rose smiles and pulls me into a hug.

"Now come on. We have a whole day of school left still and we have to get to class before we are tardy!" Rose says hurrying to our next class.
