Mom

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" My mom calls out.

"At the gym like I said I would be," I reply calmly.

"GYM?!? DON'T LIE TO ME ANYMORE!" She yells. What is wrong with her??? I was at the gym running the whole time...

"What are you talking about mom?" I ask clearly confused.

"Your school called me and told me you've been leaving school early. You're skipping classes. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN GOING YOUNG LADY?!" She asks me.

"I only left school early once and it was because I wasn't feeling good," I explain.

"Where were you when you came home late that day? You didn't come straight home. You walked in about an hour after school was over. Lynch was here before you ever showed up." Mom pushes.

"I went on a walk to get some fresh air before I came home. I wasn't feeling well and thought I just needed some fresh air and maybe something to eat. So on my walk I stopped by the ice cream parlor to grab a small ice cream cone. After that I was on my way home. I didn't go anywhere besides my walk and to pick up ice cream." I lie.

"Where were you today miss?" She says. Since she changed the day I think she bought the lie about the walk.

"The gym like I said I would be," I tell her. I'm not lying this time I actually was at the gym running with Zoe.

"Since when do you go to the gym Marianne! Also, you weren't supposed to go anywhere today. You're grounded remember!" She yells. Dangit, she remembered. I was kind of hoping she forgot.

"You let me mom. I texted you saying I was going to the gym and you said it was fine!" I remind her about our conversation earlier today.

"Because I thought you were going to the gym! To work out for a change! But I know you Marianne. You NEVER go to the gym. Now where were you! You have one last chance to tell me." She says unconvinced. I don't know what to do! I was honestly at the gym. If I lie and make something up about where I was then I'll just get in trouble.

"Mom. Please trust me. I honestly was at the gym. I'm still all sweaty from running and I have my clothes I wore before I changed in my bag along with my water bottle which is almost empty." I explain. The best I can do is hope she'll believe me.

"Alright. I believe you. Tomorrow and Friday are the last days you are grounded. I said for a week and it's Wednesday. The week is over on Friday. Behave and don't push it or you can have an entire week. You'll be un grounded Wednesday of next week. Tomorrow and Friday no going out after school. You are to come home right after. And No Skipping Class!" She gives in. Yes!

"Okay mom! I promise!" I reply running to my room. Yes! I was so worried there. I start texting my friends.

No, no. Actually I'm in less trouble then before. Before I was grounded for a week. Now I'm only grounded 'till Friday...

Hey, I wanted to ask. How did the training go? Sorry I couldn't be there.

It's all good. Marianne really needs to improve on running. Marianne you should run around your block after school some more for practice. Since you're grounded right now you don't have to. We need to get you un grounded ASAP. Run some more this weekend.

Okay. I actually need to go. I have left over Math homework from last night and I also want to squeeze a shower in. Bye guys!

Hey Guys! I got back from the gym. Sorry took so long to text, when I got back mom yelled at me. I'm going to go hop in the shower real fast, I'll text you once I'm out. Just wanted to send you a quick message that I'm home.

After the shower I get back to see a few messages from Rose and Emily.

Hey! You messaged us! Why'd you get yelled at??!

Oh no, Marianne. What did you do this time?

Yeah, also how did the gym go?

I got yelled at because I was supposed to be grounded but I went to the gym and so yeah. Gym went good. We ran the whole time (I was with Zoe) and apparently I need to run faster. So now I have to try to run after school and on the weekends.

Oh yeah! Are you in even more trouble?

Actually no I'm not... I'm in less trouble then before. Before I was grounded for a week. Now I'm only grounded 'till Friday....

Wow, your mom in a good mood or something?

I don't know but I don't want to lose it so I'm going with what she said. :P

I turn my phone off, head to my desk, and start working on my homework. Today was one crazy day.
