~Jazmine~

I sit up and grimace at a newfound burning pain in my arm. Jake looks at me with question, until his eyes avert to my arm, black veins running around the wound. He looks back to me.

"Jazmine, you aren't healing at all. You're getting worse." Jake states.

"It's- I'm fine." I take a deep breath. "It'll heal." I state glancing at it.

"It's been three days, it would've at least started healing by now." He deadpans.

"It'll heal, eventually." I try to avoid what he's getting at.

"What if it doesn't Jazmine?" I don't answer. "What do you expect me to do then?"

"I don't know." I mutter.

"Oh sweetie, have fun because this- this isn't gonna heal anytime soon."

The veins spread further and green forms around my wound. I bite my lip and squeeze my eyes shut. I gasp from the pain and I feel Jake's hand fall on my shoulder.

"It's getting a lot worse." He whispers.

"Ya think?" I retort sarcastically. He smirks softly and rubs my back before resting my head on his shoulder.

"Don't get too comfortable, little girl."

I suck in a breath and try to cope with the pain.

"We're taking you to your house." He states.

I focus on the TV and try not to feel what's about to happen. Fire hits my wound and I clench my fists. I bite the inside of my lip and watch the TV. The flame spreads across the wound and my eyes try to glow. I force them back and focus on everything but the pain, everything but control. The front door opens and Jake steps through. I inhale through my nose and remain focused on the TV, it's only the news, but it's helping.

"It's not mercury, or any form of poison, I don't see why it won't heal." Mo says quietly.

"Hmm, let's try something- new."

My eyes forcefully glow and the flame turns green. Mo pulls it away and I squeeze my eyes shut. It slowly starts healing, but it feels like poison in my veins. The skin turns a normal color, but doesn't heal completely, the wound still open. My eyes open and the green fades.

"And let's add something more."

The edge of the skin burns back slightly and black veins travel further up my arm before dying away and only surrounding the wound. I take another deep breath and clench my jaw.

"You might want to kill bête soon, little girl."

A sharp pain radiates through my arm before disappearing completely.

"Bitch." I mutter.

"We're gonna have to go after Ryder soon, or this isn't going to stop." Mathew says crossing his arms.

"Well it's not going to be easy when I'm the one who has to kill him." I state.
