Chapter 2: Daddy's Little Girl

We got dressed and raced through the forest and across the river to the Big House, and as we entered through the sliding glass doors, everyone looked up in shock. 

“Look who made it out of bed before 9 a.m. and actually beat Renesmee, who is still sleeping upstairs” Emmett said as he elbowed Edward. 

“Jasper has been waiting to hunt, but we have been afraid to go near the woods, I will go get him” Alice said as she raced ever so gracefully upstairs in a blur. 

Just then, a wolf howled in the distance, and Edward went to open the front door. “Good Morning Jacob how was your evening?” Esme asked as he entered through the front door in a pair of shorts.  

He immediately went into the closet closest to the door and opened up his dresser that was there and grabbed a shirt.

“It was fine, just caring for my dad, and setting up running assignments for the next week” 

The two packs were reunited as one pack because Sam had stop phasing and retired as Alpha, so he could age out and live his days with Emily and their two boys. They had a twelve year old boy named Klallam and a 10 year old boy named Chaske and Emily was 8 months pregnant with a little girl they were naming Makah.  

 Everyone assumed that all three children would have the wolf gene but as it was a time of peace we would hopefully not find out. Then again, Renesmee was always down on the reservation, so we didn’t know if that would make any difference or not.

Now, that we are at peace, the packs reunited and with Sam retired as Alpha, Jacob had taken over Alpha duties.   Poor Jacob was being run off his paws, caring for his sick father, being Alpha of the largest pack in the history of the tribe, and always here at the house spending time with Renesmee. 

“How’s Billy doing?” I asked, afraid of the answer as I still hated to see my best friend hurting.

“He doing better now thanks to Carlisle”, Jacob nodded a thank you towards Carlisle “but still has to spend the days I’m over here with Emily. With her being so pregnant, I was afraid she wouldn’t be able to help out with dad anymore, but she insists because she has Sam full time now. Is Renesmee awake yet?”  

“No, she’s still sleeping, she was up late last night playing the piano … just like her dad she loves to compose and she has a new tune in her head again … and she wouldn’t go to sleep until it was just right … just like her mother” Rosalie responded as we all laughed 

 “Isn’t today the 20th high school reunion? Isn’t she going?” Jacob asked

“Yes, we are all going and she will be ready in time. Do you think Alice and Rosalie would let her miss any event and look not cute for it? With 4 female vampires, we should be able to get her ready in no time” I said as Edward was looking at Jacob weirdly.  

 “Edward? What’s up?” I asked puzzled and slightly concerned. “I don’t know. Jacob has been taking lessons from you and Alice. He is hiding his thoughts very well.” Said Edward. I couldn’t tell if Edward was confused, annoyed, or concerned, but he wasn’t as happy as he was a few minutes ago that was for sure.  

 “Jacob, what’s going on? What don’t you want us to know?” I asked, because he was my best friend and he told me everything.

“Nothing, bells”  

“JAY-COB! What is going on?”  

 “Sheesh, Bells, chill it would you? Watch your temper, you don’t have a newborn excuse anymore … I’ll tell you in a little bit but I’m not ready yet so you will have to wait like every other normal person.”
